Bueng Kan Province
Bueng Kan ( th, บึงกาฬ, , ), also spelled Bung Kan, is the 76th province (''changwat'') of Thailand, established by the Act Establishing Changwat Bueng Kan, BE 2554 (2011) on 23 March 2011. The province, consisting of the districts ('' amphoe'') partitioned off Nong Khai province, lies in upper northeastern Thailand also called '' Isan'' ( th, อีสาน). It is named after its central district, Mueang Bueng Kan. Geography The province is in the northeastern corner of Thailand. It borders, from the south clockwise, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, and Nong Khai province. To the north and east it borders Bolikhamsai province of Laos, with the Mekong River forming the boundary. Hin Sam Wan (which translates into English as ''Three Whale Rock'') is a 75-million-year-old rock formation protruding out of the mountains. The National Assembly of Thailand ( Abrv: NAT; th, รัฐสภา, , ) is the bicameral legislative branch of the government of Thailand. It convenes in the Sappaya-Sapasathan, Dusit District, Bangkok. Phu Wua Wildlife Sanctuary
Phu Wua ( th, ภูวัว) is a wildlife sanctuary in northeastern Thailand, in Bueng Kan Province. It covers an area of 186.5 km2 of the districts Seka and Bung Khla. Since the beginning one hundred years ago, forest management in Thailand has undergone many changes, in form of reclassifications, name changes and management changes. All this has resulted in a division of 16 regions with 5 branches in 2002. Whales
Whales are a widely distributed and diverse group of fully aquatic placental marine mammals. As an informal and colloquial grouping, they correspond to large members of the infraorder Cetacea, i.e. all cetaceans apart from dolphins and porpoises. Dolphins and porpoises may be considered whales from a formal, cladistic perspective. Whales, dolphins and porpoises belong to the order Cetartiodactyla, which consists of even-toed ungulates. Hin Sam Wan ( th, หินสามวาฬ, lit=three whales rock) is a 75-million-year-old rock formation protruding out of a mountain in Phou Sing, Bueng Kan Province, Thailand, near the Mekong River. It is so named because, from certain angles, the rocks look like a family of whales.
