Buckfield, Maine
Buckfield is a town in Oxford County, Maine, United States. Buckfield is included in the Lewiston- Auburn, Maine metropolitan New England City and Town Area. It is a member of Regional School Unit 10 along with nearby Hartford and Sumner. The town had a population of 1,983 as of the 2020 census. History It was first settled in 1776 by Benjamin Spaulding from Chelmsford, Massachusetts, a fur trapper. Abijah Buck and Thomas Allen settled in the area in spring of 1777 with their families. In 1785, the inhabitants procured a survey of the town and purchased it from Massachusetts for 2 shillings per acre. Originally called Bucktown Plantation (or Plantation No. 5), in 1793 the Massachusetts General Court incorporated it as Buckfield, named for Abijah Buck. The surface of the town is uneven, but has deep, dark soil that yielded good crops of grain, corn and apples. Clare Buckfield (born 10 April 1976) is an English actress, best known for playing the role of Jenny Porter in the BBC sitcom ''2point4 Children'' for most of the nineties and Natasha Stevens in the CBBC series ''Grange Hill''. Biography From an early age, both she and her identical twin sister Julie harboured ambitions to be actresses, leading their mother to hire her daughters an agent. Julie Buckfield (born 10 April 1976) is a British actress. A graduate of the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London, she started her career aged 11 in the Cameron Mackintosh production of ''Les Misérables.'' She then auditioned for the part of Chrissy Mainwaring in BBC 1 teenage soap ''Grange Hill'', but eventually won the part of Natalie Stevens, for which her twin sister, Clare, had also auditioned. Clare and Julie competed again to replace Georgina Cates in ''2point4 Children'', but this time Clare got the part over Julie. Julie went on to play Julie Matthews in ''Hollyoaks'' in two periods, from 1995 to 1997 and in 2002 and briefly in 2007 and also briefly in 2018. Lin Buckfield
Linda Mary Buckfield is an Australian television producer, journalist and musician. Buckfield was the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist of the pop rock band Electric Pandas from 1983 to 1987. Buckfield's television work commenced in 1990, and she has since won five Walkley Awards. Biography Music Buckfield was the lead singer and guitarist for Electric Pandas through the mid-1980s. While a member of that band, she also released a duet with James Reyne in 1985 called "R.O.C.K.", which peaked at No. 44 on the charts. Note: Used for Australian Singles and Albums charting from 1970 until ARIA created their own charts in mid-1988.
