Bubsy
''Bubsy'' is a series of platforming video games created by Michael Berlyn and developed and published by Accolade. The games star an anthropomorphic bobcat named Bubsy, a character that takes inspiration from '' Super Mario Bros.'' and '' Sonic the Hedgehog''. The games were originally released for the Super NES, Mega Drive/Genesis, Game Boy, Jaguar, PC and PlayStation during the 1990s. There are six games that have been released in the series: '' Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind'', ''Bubsy II'', '' Bubsy in: Fractured Furry Tales'', '' Bubsy is 3D in "Furbitten Planet"'', '' Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back'' and '' Bubsy: Paws on Fire!'' In 1996, a special version of the first game, titled ''Super Bubsy'', was released for Windows 95. Bubsy In Claws Encounters Of The Furred Kind
''Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind'', often shortened to ''Bubsy'', is a platform game first released for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Entertainment System by Accolade in 1993. It is the first entry in the ''Bubsy'' series of video games. The game's title is a play on words in reference to the film ''Close Encounters of the Third Kind'', with the game revolving around Bubsy defending the planet's supply of yarn balls from alien invaders. The game was ported to Windows in 1995 under the title ''Super Bubsy''. A sequel, '' Bubsy 2'', was released in 1994. Gameplay In the game, enemy aliens called "Woolies" intend to steal Earth's supply of yarn balls. Fractured Furry Tales
''Bubsy in: Fractured Furry Tales'' is a platform video game developed by Imagitec Design and published by Atari Corporation exclusively for the Atari Jaguar in North America on December 9, 1994, then in Europe in January 1995 and later in Japan by Messe Sansao on July of the same year. It is the third entry in the ''Bubsy'' franchise, which is preceded by '' Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind'' and '' Bubsy 2''. The title itself is a word play in reference to ''Fractured Fairy Tales'', a segment from the animated television series ''The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends''. When all of the fairy tales suddenly become corrupted, Bubsy is now tasked on venturing through Fairytaleland and fixing them in order to protect all of the children in the world from these altered stories. ''Bubsy 2'' is a platform game, platform video game, the sequel to ''Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind'', and the second game in the ''Bubsy'' series. Accolade, Inc. (later Infogrames North America, Inc.) was an American video game developer and video game publisher, publisher based in San Jose, California. The company was founded as Accolade in 1984 by Alan Miller (game designer), Alan Miller and Bob Whitehead, who had previously co-founded Activision in 1979. Michael Berlyn
Michael Berlyn (born 1949) is an American video game designer and writer. He is best known as an implementer at Infocom, part of the text adventure game design team. Brainwave Creations was a small game programming company started by Michael Berlyn. The company was founded in the mid-1980s, and is probably best known for co-creating ''Tass Times in Tonetown'' along with Interplay's Rebecca Heineman. Berlyn joined Marc Blank in founding the game company Eidetic, which later became Bend Studio. In the midst of working on the company's second game, ''Syphon Filter'', Berlyn left the video game industry. Sonic The Hedgehog (1991 Video Game)
is a 1991 platform game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis. The first game in the ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' franchise, it was released in North America on June 23 and in PAL regions and Japan the following month.
