Bru, Rogaland
Bru is an island in Stavanger municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies south of the Boknafjorden, just off the coast of the Stavanger Peninsula, along the Byfjorden. The highest point on the island is the tall mountain, Brufjellet. The island sits in a group of islands with Sokn and Mosterøy to the north and Åmøy to the east. The island has a road connection to the mainland. There is a bridge on the northeast side of Bru connecting it to the island of Sokn, to the north. Sokn is connected to the mainland by the Byfjord Tunnel, part of the European route E39 highway. The tunnel actually passes below the island of Bru on its way to the city of Stavanger. Boknafjorden
Boknafjord or Boknafjorden ( en, Bokna Fjord) is a fjord located in Rogaland county, Norway. The huge fjord lies between the cities of Stavanger and Haugesund and dominates the central part of the county. The main part of the fjord is shared between the municipalities of Kvitsøy, Stavanger, Tysvær, Bokn, and Karmøy. There are dozens of smaller fjords that branch off the main part of the fjord, reaching most municipalities in the county. Stavanger Peninsula
Stavanger Peninsula ( no, Stavangerhalvøya) is a peninsula in Rogaland County, Norway. The peninsula is named for the city of Stavanger, located on its northeastern shore and it includes the most populous parts of the Greater Stavanger urban area. The peninsula extends from a line between the Sandnes harbour at the southern end of the Gandsfjorden straight west to the village of Ølbør in Sola municipality. Byfjorden (Rogaland)
Byfjorden is a fjord in Rogaland county, Norway. The long fjord runs through the municipalities of Randaberg and Stavanger. The fjord begins at the Tungenes Lighthouse at the northern end of the Stavanger Peninsula and it flows south along the east side of the peninsula to the city of Stavanger. The islands of Bru, Åmøy, Hundvåg, Buøy, Engøy, Sølyst, and Grasholmen lie along the east side of the fjord. The fjord connects to the Boknafjorden at the north end. Sokn
Sokn is an island in Stavanger municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies in a group of islands on the south side of the Boknafjorden, just east of the city of Stavanger. There are several islands surrounding Sokn: Bru to the southwest, Åmøy to the southeast, and Mosterøy to the north. All three islands are connected to Sokn by bridges, and the undersea Byfjord Tunnel has its northern terminus on the island, connecting all these islands to the mainland. Mosterøy (island)
Mosterøy is an island in Stavanger municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies just southwest of the island of Rennesøy. The smaller islands of Sokn, Bru, and Åmøy lie to the south of Mosterøy and the islands of Klosterøy and Fjøløy lie to the west of Mosterøy. All of these islands are connected together and to the mainland city of Stavanger by a series of undersea tunnels and bridges. The Mastrafjord Tunnel connects Mosterøy to the island of Rennesøy and the Askjesund Bridge connects Mosterøy to the island of Sokn. Both the tunnel and bridge are part of the European route E39 highway. Åmøy
Åmøy is an island in Stavanger Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies just north of the city of Stavanger in a group of islands. The islands of Sokn and Bru both lie to the west of Åmøy and the islands of Mosterøy and Rennesøy lie to the north, and the island of Hidle lies to the east. Geography The island is a long, narrow island with a very narrow isthmus in the middle. Historically, the island was divided between two municipalities. The western part of the island (''Vestre Åmøy'') was part of Rennesøy municipality and the eastern part (''Austre Åmøy'') was part of Stavanger municipality. Byfjord Tunnel
The Byfjord Tunnel ( no, Byfjordtunnelen) is a subsea road tunnel in Rogaland county, Norway.
