Broadway Brawler
''Broadway Brawler'' is an unfinished romantic comedy film that was to star Bruce Willis and Maura Tierney and be directed by Lee Grant. It was produced by Willis and Joseph Feury for Cinergi Pictures, and was to have been distributed by The Walt Disney Company in 1997. Other cast members included Daniel Baldwin (as "Matt"), Alex Boyd (as a flashback, younger version of "Matt"), Jenifer Lewis, and Casey Moses Wurzbach, though it is unclear how much, if any, of their scenes were shot at the time the production folded. The film was to be entirely shot in Feury's home town of Wilmington, Delaware. 20 days into shooting, Willis, unhappy with the work of some of the crew, fired multiple people, leading to Disney to shut production down. Lee Grant
Lee Grant (born Lyova Haskell Rosenthal; October 31, during the mid-1920s) is an American actress, documentarian, and director. She made her film debut in 1951 as a young shoplifter in William Wyler's ''Detective Story'', co-starring Kirk Douglas and Eleanor Parker. This role earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress as well as winning the Best Actress Award at the 1952 Cannes Film Festival. In 1952, she was blacklisted from most acting jobs for the next 12 years. Grant was able to find only occasional work onstage or as a teacher during this period. It also contributed to her divorce. During this time, Grant appeared in plays on stage. She was removed from the blacklist in 1963 and started to rebuild her on-screen acting career. Joseph Emanuel Roth is an American film executive, producer and director. He co-founded Morgan Creek Productions in 1988 and was chairman of 20th Century Fox (1989–1993), Caravan Pictures (1993–1994), and Walt Disney Studios (1994–2000) before founding Revolution Studios in 2000, then Roth Films.
