Brimborium
''Brimborium'' is a remix album by the industrial rock band KMFDM. It was released on 19 February 2008. It features remixes of several tracks from 2007's '' Tohuvabohu'', one remix from '' Hau Ruck'', and the new track "What We Do for You", which consists of voice messages from the KMFDM Fan Phone and whose title references the band's 1993 hit, "Light". "Brimborium" is a German word that translates to "hoo-ha", "mumbo-jumbo", or "rigmarole". The background drop zone in the artwork by Aidan Hughes Aidan Hughes is a commercial artist. KMFDM
KMFDM (originally Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid, loosely translated by the band as "no pity for the majority") is a multinational industrial band from Hamburg led by Sascha Konietzko, who founded the band in 1984 as a performance art project. The band's earliest incarnation included German drummer En Esch and British vocalist Raymond Watts, the latter of whom left and rejoined the group several times over its history. The trio recorded the band's earliest albums in Germany before Konietzko and Esch moved to the United States, where they found much greater success with seminal industrial record label Wax Trax!. German guitarist Günter Schulz joined in 1990; both he and Esch continued with the band until KMFDM broke up in 1999. Tohuvabohu (album)
''Tohuvabohu'' is industrial rock group KMFDM's fifteenth studio album, released on August 21, 2007, on the band's record label KMFDM Records and Metropolis Records. It was recorded in Seattle, Washington. The word "tohuvabohu" is derived from the biblical Hebrew phrase " tohu va bohu", meaning "without form and void" or "chaos and utter confusion", which was used to describe the state of the earth before creation. The band describes its usage of the term as meaning "wild and chaotic". "Superpower" uses samples taken from phone calls made by fans to a phone line set up by the band. Additional samples from these phone calls were compiled on the track "What We Do For You" on '' Brimborium'', a companion remix album. Combichrist
Combichrist is an American aggrotech / industrial metal band formed in 2003 by Norwegian vocalist Andy LaPlegua, who also founded the bands Icon of Coil, Panzer AG, Scandinavian Cock and Scandy. Combichrist was formed in Atlanta, Georgia and is now based in Oak Hill, Florida. The band consists of only LaPlegua in the studio, with a changing lineup of live performing members. DJ? Acucrack is an electronic music duo based in Chicago, Illinois. DJ? Acucrack was formed by Jason Novak and Jamie Duffy as an Acumen Nation drum n' bass side project. The duo initially created the side project to "kill time" between releases for Acumen Nation, but their releases as Acucrack were so well received that the side project ended up taking precedence. Steve White (guitarist)
Steve White is an English musician and former member of the industrial band KMFDM, first joining the band in 2002 for the Sturm & Drang Tour, and later appearing on several live albums/DVDs and the studio albums '' Hau Ruck'', '' Tohuvabohu'' and ''Blitz'' . Previously he was a member of PIG, the project of fellow KMFDM contributor Raymond Watts. He worked on '' Sick'' (an album of Sow) together with other members of KMFDM. He is also known for his work remixing for other artists, such as Mindless Self Indulgence, Nude, and Pig. White resides in Seattle, Washington along with other members of the band.
