Bremen Central Station
Bremen Hauptbahnhof (German language, German for ''Bremen main station'') is a railway station in the city of Bremen in northwestern Germany. It is the most important rail station for both the city and Bremen (state), state of Bremen; InterCityExpress, Intercity (Deutsche Bahn), Intercity, EuroCity, CityNightLine and DB NachtZug services call at the station, which is situated to the Northeast of the city centre. The train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn, NordWestBahn, Metronom Eisenbahngesellschaft, Metronom and Erixx. CityNightLine
CityNightLine AG (timetable and platform sign abbreviation: CNL) was a Swiss sleeping car, night train service. CNL had right of passage grants in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Denmark. It served stations in Belgium, France, Italy and the Czech Republic. History CityNightLine AG was a joint project/creation undertaken by the Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Bahn (DB) (German Federal Railways), the ÖBB, Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and the SBB-CFF-FFS, Swiss Federal Railways (SBB-CFF-FFS). CityNightLine's first train departed on 28 May 1995. SBB-CFF-FFS and ÖBB have since ended their collaboration with CNL. Hubert Stier
Hubert Oswald Stier (27 March 1838 in Berlin – 25 June 1907 in Hannover) was a German architect and university lecturer. He built mainly train stations, museums, and churches primarily in the Neo-Renaissance style. Most of his works are located in Berlin and Hanover. Biography Hubert Stier was the son of the Berlin architect Wilhelm Stier (1799–1856). After studying in Berlin, he received professional training in his father's company, and in 1862 he undertook a study trip to Italy. Between 1863 and 1864 he participated in the construction of the Red Town Hall in Berlin-Mitte. In 1868 he was appointed chief architect in Berlin. From 1876 he worked as a departmental architect of Hannover railways, where he was appointed as head of the project to build a new central station. Uelzen–Langwedel Railway
The Uelzen–Langwedel railway runs through the Lüneburg Heath in north Germany in an east-west direction. The line became known as part of the so-called America Line. History Imperial era The '' Bremen State Railway'', as it was first called, was originally built by the Bremen Senate and opened in 1873. It runs from Lower Saxon Langwedel eastwards through the Lüneburg Heath to Uelzen. The line was renowned as part of the so-called America Line. In Langwedel it formed a junction with the line to Wunstorf, that was owned 50/50 by Bremen and Hanover and operated by the Royal Hanoverian State Railways. Bremerhaven Hauptbahnhof
Bremerhaven Hauptbahnhof is a railway station in the city of Bremerhaven in northwestern Germany. It is the main railway hub for the city, offering regional connections to Bremen, Osnabrück, Cuxhaven, Bremervörde and Buxtehude. Museal services on the line to Bad Bederkesa also call at the station during weekends in summer. History First plans to build a railway link between Bremerhaven and Bremen were laid out as early as the 1850s. Vegesack
Vegesack is a northern district of the city of Bremen. Geography ''Vegesack'' is located about north from the centre of Bremen-city at the mouth of the river Lesum, beside the river Weser (). Abutting the district of Vegesack to the northwest is the district of Blumenthal, in the southeast the district of Burglesum. Across the river Weser is the Lower Saxony village Lemwerder, connected to Vegesack by a ferry service. History Vegesack was established long before the 14th century. At that time the mouth of the river Lesum and the small brook Aue to the river Weser was a preferred and protected berth for sailing ships in the winter time or in the stormy seasons. Therefore, the first buildings might have been a few workshops and accommodations and pubs for the sailors. Erixx GmbH (stylized as erixx) is a private railway company operating regional train service in Lower Saxony and Bremen, northern Germany. It is wholly owned by OHE AG. Since 11 December 2011, Erixx operates on behalf of the public transport company of Lower Saxony (''Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen'' - LNVG). The name is derived from Erica, the genus of heath plants, and "x", representing the ''Heidekreuz'' (heath cross), the services operated over the Lüneburg Heath.
