Boynton and Oakwood Heights are the two southernmost neighborhoods of the city of Detroit in the U.S. state of Michigan. The two neighborhoods occupy the only portions of Detroit located south of the River Rouge. According to the U.S. Census Bureau at the 2010 census, the two neighborhoods had a total area of and a population of 8,832. The population decreased 21.9% from 10,516 at the 2000 census. The majority of residents reside in the larger Boynton neighborhood, as entire blocks of Oakwood Heights have been cleared out to make room for potential industrial expansion. Boynton, East Riding Of Yorkshire
Boynton is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately west of the town of Bridlington and lies on the B1253 road. According to the 2001 UK census, the parish had a population of 161, however the 2011 census grouped the parish with Grindale (2001 pop. 98), giving a total of 229. The parish church of St Andrew's is a Grade I listed building. It includes a 15th-century tower, as well as memorials to the Strickland, later Cholmley, later Strickland-Constable Baronets, of Boynton (1641), whose seat was at Boynton Hall, which is also Grade I listed. Boynton Baronets
The Boynton Baronetcy, of Barmston in the County of York, was a title in the Baronetage of England. It was created on 15 May 1618 for Matthew Boynton, son of Sir Francis Boynton (Sheriff of Yorkshire) of Barmston Hall, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The Boyntons came to Barmston following the marriage of heiress Margaret de la See to Sir Henry Barmston in the 15th century. The first Baronet married Francis Griffith, heiress of an estate at Burton Agnes including Burton Agnes Hall and Burton Agnes Manor House which the second Baronet inherited in 1647. The fifth and sixth Baronets both served as High Sheriff of Yorkshire, in 1750 and 1771 respectively. The eleventh Baronet died without male issue and the Baronetcy passed to his cousin. Schoolhouse Children's Museum & Learning Center
The Schoolhouse Children's Museum & Learning Center is located in a historic school building, the Boynton School (also known as the Boynton Beach Elementary School), at 129 East Ocean Avenue in Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida. The school The school was built in 1913, replacing a one-room school on the same site. Designer was West Palm Beach architect William Maughlin. It has two floors and six classrooms, and housed 12 grades. It was Boynton Beach's only school for 14 years. This was a "whites only" school until the integration of Florida schools in the 1960s. In 1927 a high school was built next door, and this building became an elementary school. Electricity and indoor plumbing were installed at that time.
