History Catholic Christian missionaries in the Bhawal region cleared the woods and founded human settlements in the late 1920s. Because of the abundance of woods, it is called Banpara. Initially, only Christians lived in this neighborhood, but other faiths eventually moved in. At the moment, all faiths may be found here. Baraigram Upazila
Baraigram ( bn, বড়াইগ্রাম or Boraaigraam) is an upazila of Natore District in Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh. Geography Baraigram is located at . It has 40582 households and total area 299.61 km2. Demographics As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Baraigram has a population of 230480. Males constitute 50.85% of the population, and females 49.15%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 108842. Baraigram has an average literacy rate of 25.3% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. Administration Baraigram Upazila is divided into Baraigram Municipality, Bonpara Municipality, and seven union parishads: Baraigram, Chandai, Gopalpur, Joari, Majgoan, Nagor, and Zonail. The union parishads are subdivided into 152 mauzas and 169 villages. Baraigram Municipality and Bonpara Municipality are each subdivided into 9 wards. Natore District
Natore district is a district of Rajshahi Division located in northern Bangladesh. It borders the metropolitan city of Rajshahi, and used to be part of Rajshahi district. History Natore was the District Headquarters of Rajshahi from 1769 to 1825. Administrative Natore subdivision was established in 1825 under Rajshahi district, on the eve of the shifting of the headquarters. During the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, a battle was fought between the Pakistani army and the freedom fighters of Mukti Bahini on March 29. About 40 members of the Pakistani army including Major Aslam and Captain Ishaq were killed. On 5 May 1971 Pakistani Army killed 42 employees of North Bengal Sugar Mills ( Lalpur) including the general manager of the mill, Lieutenant Anwarul Azim.
