Bobby Hammond
Robert Lee Hammond (born February 20, 1952) is a former American professional football player and coach. He was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for five seasons with the New York Giants and Washington Redskins after playing collegiately at Morgan State University. Hammond also was an assistant coach in the NFL for 11 years and served as head coach for the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football (WLAF) from 1995 to 1996. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive handoffs from the quarterback to rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. A running back may be a halfback (in certain contexts also referred to as a "tailback" — see below), a wingback or a fullback.
