''Blue Yonder'' is the debut and sole studio album by American duo Blue Yonder, released by Atlantic in 1987. Two singles were released from the album: "Windsong" and "House of Love". "House of Love" was also recorded by American singer Maria Vidal for her 1987 self-titled debut album. Critical reception Upon its release, '' Billboard'' praised Stewart's "intriguing vocals" for being "the chief asset of this debut album". They felt "Windsong" "might cut a radio groove" but added the album's "moody songs generally lack necessary momentum for chart longevity". '' Cash Box'' praised the album's "powerful collection of good, honest songs" and added, "Stewart's vocals exhibit a passion that places her in a league with Annie Lennox and Chrissie Hynde." Gary Graff of the ''Detroit Free Press'' described the album as "well-done, albeit same-sounding pop". An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. Albums of recorded sound were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78 rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photograph album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl long-playing (LP) records played at rpm. Philippe Saisse is a French jazz multi-instrumentalist, composer, record producer, and arranger. Career He was born in Marseille and raised in Paris. After studying at the Conservatoire de Paris he won a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music. He was half of the duo Doppelganger with Randy Fredrix; a video for their song "Communication Breakdown" was added to MTV's playlist in 1985. He became the protégé of Gary Burton and debuted on Al Di Meola's '' Splendido Hotel''. He also worked with Nile Rodgers and Felicia Collins in the album Outloud and wrote for David Sanborn. Russell Young (artist)
Russell Young (born 13 March 1959) is a British-American artist best known for large silkscreen paintings using imagery drawn from recent history and popular culture. Young's artistic output includes painting, screen printing, sculpture, installations and film. Life Young studied photography, film and graphic design at the University of Chester and later attended Exeter College of Art and Design. He moved to London and gained recognition photographing the early live club shows in the late 1970s of Bauhaus, R.E.M. and the Smiths, and with editorial work for magazines including ''BLITZ'', which featured on several front covers. Laurence Dunmore is a graphic designer and film director whose first major collaboration was the British production of '' The Libertine'' in 2005. He is a member of Ridley Scott Associates and has directed advertisements for AT&T, BMW, ING and Turkish Airlines. Steve Hogarth (born Ronald Stephen Hoggarth, 14 May 1956 in Kendal, Westmorland) also known as "h", is an English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Since 1989 he has been the lead singer of the British rock band Marillion, for which he also performs additional keyboards and guitar. Roddy Lorimer
Roddy Lorimer (born 19 May 1953) is a Scottish musician who plays trumpet and flugelhorn. He has performed with a wide array of artists, including Blur, Gene, the Rolling Stones, Draco Rosa, the Who, the Style Council, Eric Clapton, Suede, Supergrass, Beyoncé, Jamiroquai, Dr John, the Waterboys, Nik Kershaw, Bruce Foxton, Fish (of Marillion). He is a founding member of the horn section Kick Horns. Career Lorimer studied the trumpet at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. His classical music background can be heard quite distinctively in his work for the Waterboys' single "The Whole of the Moon", which later turned out to be the band's greatest commercial success. Anthony "Anto" Thistlethwaite (born 31 August 1955, Lutterworth, Leicestershire, England) is a British multi-instrumentalist best known as a founding member (with guitarist Mike Scott) of the folk rock group, The Waterboys and later as a long-standing member of Irish rock band The Saw Doctors. Career After a year busking in Paris, playing tenor saxophone around the streets of the Latin Quarter, in 1980 Thistlethwaite moved to London and in 1981 he played saxophone on Robyn Hitchcock's ''Groovy Decay'' album as well as Nikki Sudden's ''Waiting on Egypt''. Charles Frederick Kip Winger (born June 21, 1961) is an American bass guitarist and singer, active as a member of the rock band Winger and as a solo artist.
