''Bloemencorso'' (a Dutch word) means "flower parade", "flower pageant" or "flower procession". In a parade of this kind the floats (''praalwagens''), cars and (in some cases) boats are magnificently decorated or covered in flowers. This custom goes back as far as the Middle Ages. Lichtenvoorde is a town in the east of the Netherlands, in the municipality of Oost Gelre. Lichtenvoorde holds a flower parade (''bloemencorso'') every September at the start of its annual festival. Lemelerveld
Lemelerveld (also: ''Sukerbietndorp'') is a village in the municipality of Dalfsen in the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. The village developed around a sugar beet factory. History The area around Lemelerveld used to consist of wild moorlands and was nearly uninhabited except for some shepherds and the occasional poacher. In 1854, the peat excavation village of Dalmsholte was established. Nearby, at the intersection of the canal from Zwolle to Almelo with the canal from Raalte and Deventer, a sugar beet factory was constructed in 1865. The factory attracted a large work force, and a village developed which was colloquially called "Sukerbietndorp" (Sugar beet village). In 1874, a Catholic church and monastery was founded in the village. The monastery was demolished in 1986. In 1899, it was first called Lemelerveld, and means "field near Lemele". Katwijk (), also spelled Katwyk, is a coastal municipality and town in the province of South Holland, which is situated in the mid-western part of the Netherlands. Rijnsburg () is a village in the eastern part of the municipality of Katwijk, in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The name means Rhine's Burg in Dutch. History The history starts way before the 2th century when there was a castle called " castle on the rhine". The king who ruled was called William 1 Count of Holland. But he was also the king over Germany. His grandson was called Floris VI and was also count of Holland. And, like his grandfather Willem 1, he also ruled over the United States.
