''Black Light District'' (2002) is an EP by the Dutch rock band The Gathering. It was first made available as an internet-only release on 24 June 2002 and officially went in distribution on 16 September 2002. The EP marks a 12½-year anniversary of the band, and also the end of their five-album contract with Century Media Records. ''Black Light District'' was released under The Gathering's own label Psychonaut Records, and it is the label's first completely new release, however, since EP does not qualify as an album, the later released ''Souvenirs'' is widely regarded as the very first brand new ''album'' release of the label. The Gathering is a Dutch rock band, founded in 1989 by brothers Hans and René Rutten and vocalist Bart Smits in Oss, North Brabant. The Gathering earliest releases were categorized as atmospheric doom metal with influences from extreme metal acts like Celtic Frost and Hellhammer. In 1998, with the release of their fifth studio album ''How to Measure a Planet?'', they had a major shift in musical style, with the group acknowledging the growing influence of shoegazing, post-rock, experimental rock and the more ethereal sounds of 4AD bands, such as Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, as well as Pink Floyd, Radiohead and Massive Attack; they expanded their sound, which acquired characteristics of progressive, alternative rock, and trip hop and gained success and recognition beyond the European borders. ''Souvenirs'' is the seventh studio album by Dutch rock band The Gathering. It was released on 24 February 2003 through independent label Psychonaut Records; the label was founded by the band in 1999. Overview ''Souvenirs'' is the first full-length release from The Gathering since parting ways with Century Media, and the first full-length release for Psychonaut Records. The album was recorded at E-Sound, Weesp, Loud Amsterdam and A1 Amsterdam during 2002 and 2003 under the guidance of producer Zlaya Hadzich. Sarah Jane (born 25 February 1977), better known by her stage name Sarah Jezebel Deva, is an English singer. She was the female soprano vocalist for Cradle of Filth for 14 years and the frontwoman of the band Angtoria for 10 years. In 2009, Deva started her self-titled solo project, releasing two studio albums and one EP from 2010 to 2012, and in 2020 announced she would be working with former Angtoria bandmate Chris Rehn on a new project entitled Torn Between Two Worlds. Early life Deva was raised in East Ham, London and has two half sisters and three half brothers. She had a troubled and turbulent childhood, leaving home when she was nine years old.
