Bishopstown
Bishopstown () is located in the civil parish of St. Finbar's, Barony of Cork, County Cork, Ireland. It is a southwestern suburb of Cork and is made-up of the townlands of Ballineaspigbeg and Ballineaspigmore (sometimes spelled Ballinaspigmore). It is near the town of Ballincollig, a satellite of Cork City, and is home to a number of schools and colleges, Though it is sometimes suggested that the name of the area derives from an early 18th-century bishop who built his country residence there, the name can be reputedly traced back further and found in sources dating to the 16th century. Cork Under-21 Football Championship
The Cork Under-21 Football Championship is a Gaelic football competition in County Cork, Ireland for players under the age of 21. Clubs affiliated to Cork board compete to win this championship. All eight of the divisions in Cork organize their own championship. The divisional winners compete against each other to decide the county title. Trophy The winning team is presented with the Pádraig A. Ó Murchú Cup. This cup commemorates Patrick Aloyius "Weeshie" Murphy of Bere Island, who served the GAA for many years, both as a player and an administrator. Jamie O'Sullivan
Jamie O'Sullivan (born 19 December 1988) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Cork Senior Championship club Bishopstown. He currently plays as a centre-back, but can also be deployed as a full-back or as a corner-back. O'Sullivan was a member of the Cork senior football team that won the 2010 All-Ireland Championship. Born in Southampton, O'Sullivan first came to prominence as a Gaelic footballer after moving to Cork. He enjoyed success at juvenile and underage levels with the Bishopstown club, however, it was as a member of the club's under-21 hurling team that he won Cork Under-21 Championship medals in 2006 and 2007. Shane O'Neill (hurler)
Shane O'Neill (born 1 March 1986) is an Irish hurler who plays as a right corner-back for the Cork senior team. Born in Bishopstown, Cork, O'Neill first played competitive hurling whilst at school in Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior team as a member of the extended panel during the 2005 championship. Since then O'Neill has become a regular member of the starting fifteen and has won one Munster medal on the field of play. He has been an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. Ken O'Halloran (born 7 August 1986 in Bishopstown, Cork, Ireland) is an Irish former sportsperson. He plays Gaelic football and hurling with his local club Bishopstown and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county football team from 2010 till his retirement in 2017. Paul McGrath (Gaelic Footballer)
Paul McGrath (born 23 May 1966) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer. In a career that spanned two decades he played at club level with Bishopstown and at inter-county level with the Cork senior football team. Career McGrath first came to prominence at underage level with Bishopstown before spending over a decade lining out for the club's senior team. He first appeared on the inter-county scene as a member of the Cork under-21 team, winning successive All-Ireland Under-21 Championship titles in 1985 and 1986. McGrath subsequently joined the Cork senior football team and won the first of five Munster Championship title in his debut season in 1988. Brian Cuthbert
Brian Cuthbert (born 1975) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer. Born in Bishopstown, Cork, Cuthbert first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. Although he never played in the senior grade, Cuthbert won an All-Ireland medal as captain of the minor team in 1993. At club level Cuthbert is a two-time championship medallist in the intermediate grade with Bishopstown as a hurler. In retirement from playing Cuthbert became involved in team management and coaching. He began his career with various Cork development squads and the Cork Institute of Technology freshers team, before two years as manager of the Cork minor football team. Johnny Crowley (Gaelic Footballer)
John Crowley is an Irish former Gaelic football forward with the Glenflesk and Bishopstown clubs, East Kerry divisional side and, at senior level, for the Kerry county team. Playing career Club With the East Kerry team, Crowley won three consecutive Kerry Senior Football Championship titles from 1997 to 1999. With Glenflesk, he won 5 East Kerry Senior Football Championships as well as a Kerry Club Football Championship in 2000. Johnny Crowley
Johnny Crowley (born 21 February 1956) is an Irish former hurler who played as a centre-back at senior level for the Cork county team. Born in Enniskean, County Cork, his family later moved to the city. He attended Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa for a couple of years, but transferred to St Finbarr's College, Farranferris after 4th year. He first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of eighteen when he first linked up with the Cork minor teams as a dual player, before later joining the Cork under-21 hurling team. He made his senior debut during the 1976 championship. Crowley enjoyed a decade-long career with Cork and won five All-Ireland medals, nine Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal.
