Etymology The name, Bhuragaon derived from Assamese word Bhur (ভূৰ) , which means a flat floating structure made of buoyant materials like wood, banana tree, bamboo or reed. And the word Gaon means village. In past time, native people use this bhur as a medium of transport. Later, this place came to known as Bhuragaon. Brahmaputra
The Brahmaputra is a trans-boundary river which flows through Tibet, northeast India, and Bangladesh. It is also known as the Yarlung Tsangpo in Tibetan, the Siang/Dihang River in Arunachali, Luit in Assamese, and Jamuna River in Bangla.
