Bhakta Raj Acharya
Bhakta Raj Acharya ( ne, भक्तराज आचार्य ) (born on 1999 B.S or 1942 A.D), commonly referred to as ''Bhajan Shiromani'', is one of the great and popular Nepali singer and music-composer. Widely known as one of the greatest singers of all time in Nepal. He was born in Dhankuta, Nepal and raised in Kalimpong, India. He moved to Nepal in 1970's during the flock of Darjeeling singers to Nepal. Acharya's career started in 1973 after he won a gold medal in an All Nepal Song Competition held by Radio Nepal. His career spanned until 1986. He has about 450 recorded songs and has composed about 25-30 songs. His sons, Satya Raj Acharya and Sworoop Raj Acharya also known jointly as Satya-Swaroop, have followed their father's footsteps and have established themselves as promising singers. Dhankuta
Dhankuta ( ne, धनकुटा ) is a hill town and the headquarter of Koshi Zone located in Dhankuta District of Eastern Nepal. According to 2011 Nepal census, it has population of 26,440 inhabitants. History Until about 1963 Dhankuta Bazaar (the town) was the administrative headquarters for the whole of north-eastern Nepal. Located a half-mile above the town were the buildings of the Bada Hakim, the feudal district governor of the whole north-eastern region, a man with enormous power. The town also had the regional jail and army post. Radio Nepal ( ne, रेडियो नेपाल) is the state-owned Radio broadcasting organisation of Nepal. It was established 2 April 1951. Radio Nepal airs programs on short wave, medium wave ( AM) and FM frequencies. Regular broadcasts consume sixteen hours every day, including two hours of regional broadcasts. Public holidays feature an additional two hours. FM Kathmandu, the first FM channel covering Kathmandu valley and adjoining areas, was started in 1995 in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu.
