Bethel Motor Speedway
Bethel Motor Speedway is a quarter-mile asphalt oval race track, located near the site of the original Woodstock Music Festival in White Lake, New York. The track is sanctioned by NASCAR as part of its Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. History The track was constructed in 1959, and opened for operations in 1960. It has existed under several names, including White Lake Speedway, Catskill Mountain Speedway, Sullivan County Speedway, and Kauneonga Speedway. The track closed in 2006 and remained idle through 2007. Fred Graf Racing, LLC, purchased the speedway, and it reopened under new ownership bearing the Bethel Motor Speedway name on August 9, 2008. Dave and Joanne Rocket, who promoted races at the speedway from 1998 until 2004, returned as promoters under the new owner. White Lake, Sullivan County, New York
White Lake is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in the town of Bethel, Sullivan County, New York, United States, on the southeastern shore of a lake of the same name. It was the closest community to the Woodstock Music Festival in 1969. The community has a post office on New York Route 17B. Its ZIP Code is 12786. Its population in 2000 was reported at 665 and it is the largest community in the town of Bethel. The Bethel Town Hall is also located in the community. Christian D. Eckes (pronounced "eck-iss"; born November 10, 2000) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 19 Chevrolet Silverado for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing. Legends car racing is a style of auto racing designed primarily to promote exciting racing and to keep costs down. The race car bodyshells are 5/8-scale replicas of American automobiles from the 1930s and 1940s, powered by Yamaha XJ1250, FJ1200 (both air-cooled) or, starting in 2018, FZ09 (water-cooled) engines.
