Bethel High School is located in Spanaway, Washington. It is Bethel School District's oldest high school, dating back to 1952. Spanaway is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The population was 35,476 at the 2020 census, up from 27,227 in 2010. Spanaway is an unincorporated area near Tacoma, and is often identified together with the more urban, less wealthy Parkland. Spanaway's main business thoroughfare is Pacific Avenue South, which is a north–south road that coincides with State Route 7 through the Spanaway area. Miss Washington USA
The Miss Washington USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Washington in the Miss USA pageant. It is currently produced by Pageants NW Productions based in Puyallup, Washington, which also produces Idaho, Montana and Oregon state pageants. Washington has been moderately successful in terms of number of semi-finalists and placements, and has had one Miss USA. Dorothy Anstett won the crown in 1968 and went on to place 4th runner-up at Miss Universe. The most recent placement was Tara McCormick in 2004, placing Top 15. Prior to 2017, no Washington delegate had previously competed at Miss Teen USA, although one has competed at Miss America. Morgan Hicks (born March 22, 1982, in Tacoma, Washington) is an American sport shooter. She has competed for Team USA, as a 22-year-old, in small-bore rifle shooting at the 2004 Summer Olympics, and has won a gold medal in the rifle three positions at the 2008 ISSF World Cup meet in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Outside her world and Olympic career, Hicks was an eight-time All-American for Murray State University from 2000 to 2004, where she became the NCAA air rifle champion on her senior season. While at Murray, she was a member of the National Residence Hall Honorary society.
