Bessemer City High School is a high school in the Gaston County Schools school district located in Bessemer City, NC. Its attendance range covers the central part of western Gaston County, and it also serves the eastern portion of the community of Tryon, parts of north western Gastonia, and the surrounding rural area. Bessemer City is a small suburban city in Gaston County, North Carolina, United States. The population is 5,340 (as of the 2010 census). The city is approximately northwest of Gastonia and west of Charlotte. It was settled in 1756 and founded in 1893. Geography Bessemer City is located at (35.284262, -81.282853). Cherryville High School is a high school in the Gaston County Schools public school district located in Cherryville, NC. Highland School Of Technology
Highland School of Technology is a magnet public high school located in Gastonia, North Carolina. It is the first magnet school available to students in the Gaston County Schools public school district and draws students from each of the other nine high schools in the district. The percentage of students at Highland from a particular feeder high school is equal to the overall percentage of that school's students in the district. Kevin Austin Millwood (born December 24, 1974) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies and Seattle Mariners. While with the Braves, Millwood was part of a pitching rotation which featured Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz.
