Bernardo Faria
Bernardo Rocha de Faria is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor and instructor. He is five-time World Jiu-Jitsu Champion, European Championship (Brazilian jiu-jitsu), European Champion, Pan-American Championship (jiu-jitsu), Pan-American Champion and Brazilian National Jiu-Jitsu Championship, Brazilian National Champion. In February and March 2013, Faria was ranked first in the IBJJF World Ranking of all divisions, and was chosen as the best jiu jitsu athlete of 2015. Faria received his BJJ belt, black belt from instructor Ricardo Marques in 2008, and moved to the Alliance Jiu Jitsu Sao Paulo team to train with mestre Fábio Gurgel in 2009. In June 2022 Faria was inducted in the List of IBJJF Hall of Fame inductees, IBJJF Hall of Fame. Bernardo Faria currently runs his own Jiu Jitsu academy in Bedford, Massachusetts. Gordon Ryan (born July 8, 1995) is an American submission grappler and Brazilian jiu-jitsu 1st degree black belt, considered to be the greatest no–gi grappler of all time due to his accomplishments and dominance. Ryan is a Five–time ADCC World champion, two-time IBJJF No-Gi World champion and a four-time Eddie Bravo Invitational champion. John Danaher (martial Artist)
John Danaher (born April 2, 1967 in Washington, D.C., United States) is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts instructor and coach. He is widely regarded as one of the best instructors and coaches in these sports. Danaher holds a 6th-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Renzo Gracie, and he is a former instructor at the Renzo Gracie Academy in Manhattan. Danaher grew up in New Zealand and arrived in the United States in 1991 to study at Columbia University's philosophy Ph.D. program. After arriving in New York, Danaher was introduced to Brazilian jiu-jitsu by a friend at the university, and began taking classes at the Renzo Gracie Academy in Manhattan. Dean Richard Lister (born February 13, 1976) is a retired American mixed martial artist. A professional from 2000 until 2015, he fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, PRIDE Fighting Championships, and California-based promotion King of the Cage, where he rose to prominence as a Middleweight Champion. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu ranking system signifies a practitioner's increasing level of technical knowledge and practical skill within the art. Colored belts worn as part of the uniform are awarded to the practitioner.
