The Berlin Defence is a chess opening that begins with the moves: :1. e4 e5 :2. Nf3 Nc6 :3. Bb5 Nf6 The opening is a of the Ruy Lopez and is assigned codes C65–C67 in the ''Encyclopaedia of Chess Openings''. The code C65 covers White moves other than 4.0-0, such as 4.d3 (4.Nc3 is considered a variation of the Four Knights Game). The code C66 covers the variation 4.0-0 d6, and the code C67 covers the variation 4.0-0 Nxe4 (usually regarded as the main line of the Berlin Defence). The Mortimer Trap is a chess opening trap in the Ruy Lopez named after James Mortimer. The Mortimer Trap is a true trap in the sense that Black deliberately plays an inferior move to tempt White into making a mistake. Analysis 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 Nf6 :The trap begins with Black playing the Berlin Defense to the Ruy Lopez. Richárd Rapport (born 25 March 1996) is a Hungarian-Romanian chess grandmaster. A chess prodigy, he earned his grandmaster title at the age of 13 years, 11 months and 6 days, making him Hungary's youngest ever grandmaster. He was the Hungarian Chess Champion in 2017 and was the 5th highest rated player in the world Early life Rapport was born in Szombathely, to Tamás Rapport and Erzsébet Mórocz, both economists. World Blitz Chess Championship 2022
The 2022 World Blitz Chess Championship was the 2022 edition of the annual chess tournament held by FIDE to determine the world champion in chess played under blitz time controls. Since 2012, FIDE has held the World World Rapid Chess Championship 2022, Rapid and Blitz Championships at a joint tournament. The tournament was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 29–30 December 2022, using a Swiss-system tournament, Swiss-system with 21 rounds for the open tournament and 17 rounds for the women's tournament. Players eligible to participate were to either be rated at least 2550 Elo rating system, Elo (2250 Elo rating system, Elo for women) in a FIDE rating list during 2022, or be a reigning national champion. Time controls for the tournament were 3+2, meaning each player initially starts with 3 minutes and gains 2 additional seconds following each move. The field of 14 players in the Masters section included the numbers one and two of the FIDE world rankings at the time, Magnus Carlsen and Ding Liren, as well as five teenage grandmasters. Dommaraju Gukesh (born 29 May 2006), better known as Gukesh D, is an Indian chess grandmaster. A chess prodigy, he is the third-youngest person in history to qualify for the title of Grandmaster, which FIDE awarded him in March 2019. On 16 October 2022, at the age of 16, he became the youngest player ever to defeat current world champion Magnus Carlsen, when he beat Carlsen in a game at the Aimchess Rapid Tournament.
