Benoît Joachim
Benoît Joachim (born 14 January 1976) is a retired professional road racing cyclist from Luxembourg. Biography Joachim started his professional career at the age of 18 for a small Italian cycling team, Sonego Sport. After racing with them for three months, he was noticed by the bigger, De Nardi who were interesting him. After riding with De Nardi for 3 years, he joined the Us Postall Pro Cycling Team and rode as a ''super-domestique'' for the team. He has competed in eleven Grand Tours, including the Tour de France (2000, 2002), the Giro d'Italia (2005, 2006, 2007), and the Vuelta a España (1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006). His career highlight is becoming crowned many Luxembourg National Road Race Champion titles and Luxembourg National Time Trial Champion. Luxembourgish National Road Race Championships
The Luxembourg National Road Race Championship is a cycling race where Luxembourg cyclists decide who will become the champion for the year to come. The event was established in 1922. The event was organised alongside the German and Swiss national championships from 1974 to 1986, and in 1989 and 1994. The 1936, 1955, 1956, 1958, 1963 to 1973, 1987 and 1988 editions were held in the form of a time trial. A separate Time Trial Championship has been held since 1999. The national title was not awarded in 1991 nor 1995. The women's championship was not established until 1959. 2005 Vuelta A España
These are the results for the 2005 edition of the Vuelta a España cycling race. Roberto Heras was the original champion but the win was awarded to Russian Denis Menchov after Heras tested positive in a doping test. Heras made an appeal through the Spanish courts, which ruled in his favour in June 2011 and this decision was upheld in the Spanish supreme court in December 2012; the Spanish cycling federation was not yet sure how to act, but said that the most likely result is that Heras will be reinstated. The 59th edition of the ''Vuelta a España'' (Tour of Spain), a long-distance bicycle stage race and one of the three grand tours, was held from 4 September to 26 September 2004. The 58th edition of the ''Vuelta a España'' (Tour of Spain), a long-distance bicycle stage race and one of the three grand tours, was held from 6 September to 28 September 2003. 2007 Giro D'Italia
The 2007 Giro d'Italia was the 90th running of the Giro d'Italia, one of cycling's Grand Tours. It took place from 12 May to 3 June 2007. The race began in Sardinia and finished in Milan, and featured five mountain top finishes, of which one was an individual time trial. The race also visited France and Austria in three stages. Danilo Di Luca of the team won the race, with Andy Schleck from and Eddy Mazzoleni from rounding out the podium. Schleck also won the youth classification, which featured in the Giro for the first time since 1994. 2006 Giro D'Italia
The 2006 Giro d'Italia was the 89th edition of the Giro d'Italia, one of cycling's Grand Tours. It began in the Belgian city of Seraing with a individual time trial. The race came to a close with a mass-start road stage that stretched from Museo del Ghisallo to Milan. Twenty two teams entered the race that was won by the Italian Ivan Basso of the team.
