Bendigo Pioneers
The Bendigo Pioneers is an Australian rules football team in the statewide Victorian under-18s league, the NAB League. Synopsis The Bendigo Pioneers is an Australian rules football team playing in NAB League since 1993 based in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. The idea behind the Bendigo Pioneers is to train its players and condition them for professional football. The team is divided into under-15s, under-16s, and under-18s. The Pioneers train at Epsom/Huntly Oval, Epsom, Victoria, Epsom. Their jersey colors are blue, white and yellow with blue, white and yellow socks and blue (home) or white (away) shorts. They are within the largest geographical region, from Bendigo to Broken Hill, therefore having the largest area to recruit from; but have been the least successful club in the competition, winning no premierships and finishing last on ten occasions as of 2021. NAB League
The NAB League Boys (also referred to as simply the NAB League and formerly known as the TAC Cup) is an under-19 Australian rules football representative competition held in Australia. It is based on geographic regions throughout country Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne with each team representing twelve Victorian regions, while a thirteenth team from Tasmania was reintroduced in 2019. The competition is sponsored by National Australia Bank (NAB), having previously been sponsored by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) since its inception. The competition is one of the primary sources of recruitment for Australian Football League (AFL) clubs. It provides an opportunity for talented regional players to participate in a high standard competition without having to relocate too far from their place of origin. Daniel Harris (footballer)
Daniel Harris (born 10 May 1982) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne Football Club and Gold Coast Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He played as a midfielder and has been noted as one of the best centre clearance players in the league. He was also one of the league's best tacklers, making the top ten for most tackles in each season between 2006 and 2008. After being delisted by North Melbourne he was drafted with the first selection in the 2010 Rookie Draft as a mature age rookie to join the new Gold Coast Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) in 2010. Kane Munro
Kane Munro (born 11 March 1982) is an Australian rules footballer who played with the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). Munro grew up in Walpeup but completed his schooling in Bendigo, where he played for the Pioneers. A midfielder and half forward, he was recruited by the West Coast Eagles in the 1999 AFL draft at selection 41. He made just two appearances in the 2000 AFL season but contributed to East Perth's win in the WAFL grand final. The following season he played in another WAFL premiership team and from seven further AFL games could only manage a total of 39 disposals. Brent Guerra
Brent Guerra (born 29 May 1982) is a former Australian rules football player who played with the Port Adelaide Football Club, St Kilda Football Club, and Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League. Career Port Adelaide Beginning his career at Port Adelaide in 2000, he was seen as a potentially dangerous winger or forward. Brent Guerra also won three SANFL Premierships with Central District. Michael O'Brien (born 25 July 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. Nathan Thompson (born 14 February 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer, who previously played with the Hawthorn and clubs in the Australian Football League. He has been a previous panellist on the Sunday Footy Show. Early career Thompson originated from the Kyneton and was invited to train with as an 18 year old. He spent 1997 playing with Hawthorns reserve grade team that accumulated with a reserve grand final appearance. He was one of Hawthorns best that day in a losing side. Chris Tarrant (footballer)
Chris Tarrant (born 18 September 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club and the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He announced at the end of the 2010 AFL season that he would return to Melbourne for personal reasons and would not extend his contract with Fremantle for the 2011 season. Dean Solomon (born 9 January 1980) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Football Club and the Fremantle Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Solomon served as caretaker senior coach with the Gold Coast Football Club for the last 3 games of the 2017 season, following the departure of senior coach Rodney Eade on 7 August 2017.
