Beaumont, Alberta
Beaumont ( ) is a city in Leduc County within the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada. It is located at the intersection of Highway 625 and Highway 814, adjacent to the City of Edmonton and northeast of the City of Leduc. The Nisku Industrial Park and the Edmonton International Airport are located to the west and to the southwest respectively. Originally a French farming community, Beaumont is now a city with 19,236 people. Its downtown core resembles a French village with unique architecture and red brick walkways. It is named for the "beautiful hill" on which St. Vital Church, built in 1919, is located within the centre of the city. The name was selected in 1895 as part of a petition for a post office. Beaumont, Kansas
Beaumont is an unincorporated community in Butler County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the community and nearby areas was 36. History The surrounding area is farm land, settled by ranchers and farmers after the Civil War. Homesteaders from Missouri, Iowa, Tennessee, and other eastern states came because of an abundance of cheap land. The town site was first a stop on the stagecoach route between Fredonia and Wichita. In 1879 Edwin and Emma Russell built the Summit Hotel, later renamed as the Beaumont Hotel. In 1885 the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, better known as the Frisco, established Beaumont as a railroad town. One line of tracks ran east and west, connecting St. Louis with Wichita. A spur was added later going south from Beaumont though Latham and on to the Oklahoma border. A roundhouse was built in 1890 across from the Summit Hotel, and employed 90 people. Beaumont Island (Greenland)
Beaumont Island ( da, Beaumont Ø) is an island of the Lincoln Sea, Greenland. Administratively it belongs to the Northeast Greenland National Park. The inclusion of this island in determining the international boundary between Canadian and Danish waters was formerly a subject of disagreement following a 1973 treaty that left parts of the offshore boundary undefined, until the boundary in the Lincoln Sea was formalized in 2022. Geography Beaumont Island lies in the Lincoln Sea to the NNW of the mouth of Victoria Fjord. It is located almost 40 km NNE of Cape May (Greenland), Cape May, at the northern end of Wulff Land and 20 km west of John Murray Island. The waters around the island are icebound most of the year. Beaumont is a small town in inland Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand. It is located on the Clutha River / Mata-Au six kilometres southeast of Raes Junction, between Roxburgh and Balclutha. Beaumont is connected to Milton and Roxburgh by State Highway 8. Beaumont was named for Beaumont Burn, probably about 1857. For eleven years, Beaumont served as the terminus of a branch line railway that ran from a junction with the Main South Line at Milton. Beaumont, South Australia
Beaumont is a suburb of Adelaide in the City of Burnside. Founded as a purpose-built village by Sir Samuel Davenport in 1848, it initially struggled due to high land prices in the area. However, with Adelaide's inevitable expansion residents eventually settled. The early village had quite a cosmopolitan flavour–although predominantly Anglo-Saxon like most of Australia at that point, many of Beaumont's early residents were veterans of the British Navy or Army or had lived in other countries for some time. Beaumont House, constructed around 1850 for Augustus Short, still stands and is now owned by the National Trust of South Australia. Beaumont station is an Amtrak station in Beaumont, Texas, served by the ''Sunset Limited'' service. Station buildings The current station building and adjacent police substation were constructed in 2012 and opened on September 14 of that year. An earlier station building on the site sustained damage in Hurricane Rita in 2005. That building was removed and only a concrete platform was left for six years until the current replacement station was built. A portion of the construction funds for the current station was from $1.2 million in federal stimulus funding. Work was completed in January, 2012. The station is constructed of red brick and has an enclosed waiting room. A platform was also constructed. The city of Beaumont built a police substation with public restrooms on the site adjacent to the current train station at the same time. Beaumont is a coastal city in the U.S. state of Texas.
