Beauce-Nord
Beauce-Nord is a provincial electoral district in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It includes notably the municipalities of Sainte-Marie, Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon, Beauceville, Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce and Saint-Isidore. It was created along with Beauce-Sud for the 1973 election from parts of Beauce. It also took parts from Dorchester and Lévis electoral districts. Beauce-Sud is a provincial electoral district in the Chaudière-Appalaches and Estrie regions of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec The National Assembly of Quebec (officially in french: link=no, Assemblée nationale du Québec) is the legislative body of the province of Quebec in Canada. Sainte-Marie, Quebec
Sainte-Marie is a city in the province of Quebec, Canada. It is the seat of the Municipalité régionale de la Nouvelle-Beauce, in Chaudière-Appalaches. The population was 13,134 as of the Canada 2021 Census, and was 95.7% French-speaking as of 2021. It is located south-east of Quebec City, on the Chaudière River. History The ''seigneurie'' of Sainte-Marie-de-la-Nouvelle-Beauce was granted to Thomas-Jacques Taschereau in 1736. He chose the name in honour of his wife, Marie-Claire de Fleury de La Gorgendière. The religious parish was founded in 1737 and the municipality in 1845. Beauceville
Beauceville is a city in, and the seat of, the Municipalité régionale de comté Beauce-Centre in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and the population was 6,185 as of the Canada 2021 Census. Beauceville's new constitution dates from 1998, when it amalgamated with Saint-François-Ouest and Saint-François-de-Beauce. The previous city was also the creation of a merging between Beauceville and Beauceville-Est, distinction made because each shared a bank of the Chaudière River. Beauceville was the first municipality in Beauce to be constituted as a city when it detached from Saint-François-de-Beauce in 1904. Saint-Victor is a municipality in the Beauce-Centre Regional County Municipality in the centre of the Beauce area, part of the Chaudière-Appalaches administrative region in Quebec, Canada. Saint-Victor's population is 2,313. History The area was first settled as Tring township municipality, established in 1804. Colonization peaked between 1834 and 1838. Settlers came from the neighboring areas of Saint-François (Beauceville), Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, Lauzon, and Bellechasse. The Tring township municipality was created in 1845, dissolved in 1847, and reestablished in 1855. In 1864 it split into the Saint-Victor-de-Tring and Saint-Éphrem-de-Tring municipalities. Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce is a city in the Municipalité régionale de comté Beauce-Centre in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and the population was 5,014 as of the Canada 2021 Census. The new city constitution dates from 1999, when the city of Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce and the parish municipality of Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce amalgamated. However, the territory was settled as a ''seigneurie'' in 1736 under Pierre de Rigaud de Vaudreuil, which makes it the oldest settlement in Beauce. In 1747, Vaudreuil would exchange it to Joseph de Fleury de La Gorgendière, who would initiate the development of the settlement. Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce is the seat of the judicial district of Beauce. Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce holds an annual Truck drag race event, the ''Accélération de camions à St-Joseph-de-Beauce'' (Big Rig Drag Racing) which established in 2004. Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon is a municipality in La Nouvelle-Beauce Regional County Municipality in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the Chaudière-Appalaches region and the population is 6,177 as of the Canada 2011 Census. Prior to June 22, 2013 it was a parish municipality. It is named after Pierre Lambert, a land surveyor who planned neighbouring Lévis.
