Comandante João Ribeiro de Barros Airport is an airport serving Bauru, Brazil. History The airport was built in 1939. On 23 October 2006 with the opening of Bauru-Arealva Airport, Moussa Nakhl Tobias Airport, located in the adjoining municipality of Arealva, all scheduled traffic was transferred to the new facility. Since then Bauru Airport is dedicated to general aviation and to the operations of the Airclub of Bauru. In 2013 the administration of the airport was transferred to the Municipality of Bauru. Bauru () is a Brazilian municipality in midwestern region of the state of São Paulo. It is the main city of the mesoregion and microregion of Bauru. The population is 379,297 (2020 est.) in an area of 667.68 km². DAFIF () or the ''Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File'' is a comprehensive database of up-to-date aeronautical data, including information on airports, airways, airspaces, navigation data, and other facts relevant to flying in the entire world, managed by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) of the United States. Withdrawal of public access DAFIF was publicly available until October 2006 through the Internet; however, it was closed to public access because "increased numbers of foreign source providers are claiming intellectual property rights or are forewarning NGA that they intend to copyright their source". The Fokker F27 Friendship is a turboprop airliner developed and manufactured by the Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker.
