''Bass Guitar'' is a UK-based music magazine established in 2003 and continuing to the present day. The magazine was originally a bi-monthly publication until 2009 when it became monthly. The magazine has featured articles and tuition columns from a long list of world-renowned bassists, including Nick Beggs, pop and progressive rock veteran; Jeff Berlin, jazz legend; Steve Lawson, solo artist; Alex Webster of Cannibal Corpse; Suzy Starlite of the Starlite Campbell Band; Paolo Gregoletto of Trivium; Michael McKeegan of Therapy?; Ruth Goller, jazz educator and session bassist; and Paul Geary, session bassist with George Michael, Lisa Stansfield, Westlife and many others. Joel McIver
Joel McIver (born 10 February 1971) is a British author. His best-known work is ''Justice for All: The Truth About Metallica'', first published in 2004 and appearing in nine languages since then. McIver's other works include biographies of Black Sabbath, Slayer, Thunder, Ice Cube, and Queens of the Stone Age. His writing appears in newspapers and magazines such as ''The Guardian'', the ''Daily Telegraph'' and ''Classic Rock'', and he is an occasional guest on BBC and commercial radio and television. Education and career McIver is an alumnus of Backwell School and the University of Edinburgh. Since 2012, McIver has been the editor of ''Bass Guitar'' magazine; and since 2018, the editor of '' Bass Player'' after the two publications merged. Therapy?
Therapy? are a Northern Irish rock band from Larne, formed in 1989 by guitarist-vocalist Andy Cairns and drummer-vocalist Fyfe Ewing. Therapy? recorded their first demo with Cairns filling in on bass guitar. To complete the lineup, the band recruited Larne bassist Michael McKeegan. The band signed with major label A&M Records in 1992, for which they released four albums, most notably ''Troublegum'' in 1994 and ''Infernal Love'' in 1995. Ewing's departure in early 1996 preceded the arrivals of his replacement Graham Hopkins, and Martin McCarrick on cello and guitar. Neil Cooper replaced Hopkins on drums in 2002. Following the departure of McCarrick in 2004, the band have remained a stable three-piece since. Therapy? are currently signed to UK independent label Marshall Records. Guitar Magazines
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand. A plectrum or individual finger picks may also be used to strike the strings. Westlife
Westlife is an Irish pop vocal group formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1998. The group currently consists of members Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan, and Nicky Byrne. Brian McFadden was a member, until he left in 2004. The group temporarily disbanded in 2012 after 14 years of success and later reunited in 2018. Lisa Jane Stansfield (born 11 April 1966) is an English singer, songwriter, and actress. Her career began in 1980 when she won the singing competition ''Search for a Star''. After appearances in various television shows and releasing her first singles, Stansfield, along with Ian Devaney and Andy Morris, formed Blue Zone in 1986.
