Barracuda Group
Varsity was a student-focused pub chain operating in the United Kingdom. The name originates from annual university sports competitions. It entered administration in 2013. Coventry is the only remaining pub bearing the name Varsity which is now operated by Stonegate Pub Company. History The chain began in the mid-1990s. Its main competitor was Scream Pubs. Varsity was more sports-orientated than It's A Scream. Varsity Wolverhampton – the first varsity bar in the chain – shut its doors in June 2012 after The University of Wolverhampton made a successful bid to the struggling Barracuda Group to purchase the building. Luton
Luton () is a town and unitary authority with borough status, in Bedfordshire, England. At the 2011 census, the Luton built-up area subdivision had a population of 211,228 and its built-up area, including the adjacent towns of Dunstable and Houghton Regis, had a population of 258,018. The Sheffield Supertram is a tram and tram-train network covering Sheffield and Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England. The infrastructure is owned by the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE), with Stagecoach responsible for the operation and maintenance of rolling stock under a concession until 2024, under the brand name Stagecoach Supertram. Interest in building a modern tram system for Sheffield had mounted during the 1980s. After detailed planning by SYPTE, the Supertram proposal was approved by Act of Parliament in 1991. Construction of the network, incorporating several existing heavy rail sections as well as new track, was carried out in sections, allowing revenue services to start during 1994. Gloucester ( ) is a cathedral city and the county town of Gloucestershire in the South West of England. The University of Wolverhampton is a public university located on four campuses across the West Midlands, Shropshire and Staffordshire in England. The roots of the university lie in the Wolverhampton Tradesmen's and Mechanics' Institute founded in 1827 and the 19th-century growth of the Wolverhampton Free Library (1870), which developed technical, scientific, commercial and general classes. Westwood (Campus)
Westwood is one of three campuses of the University of Warwick (the other two being the main campus and Gibbet Hill). Description It is a triangular shaped campus bordered by the houses on Charter Avenue and by Gibbet Hill Road, located to the north of the main campus. It contains several halls of residence, a restaurant/cafe, laundrette, small Costcutter shop and other buildings used for teaching purposes. All the buildings are set amongst a leafy backdrop of trees which makes Westwood campus very picturesque in summer. To the west of the campus is a sports centre with many facilities including several pitches, a running track and a multi-purpose hall. It takes roughly 15 minutes to walk from Westwood to the centre of main campus at a brisk pace. Many of the buildings are closer and can be reached in approximately 10 minutes at a brisk pace.
