Bagnolet
Bagnolet () is a commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the center of Paris. History On 1 January 1860, the city of Paris was enlarged by annexing neighboring communes. On that occasion, a small part of the commune of Bagnolet was annexed to the city of Paris. At the same time, the commune of Charonne was disbanded and divided between the city of Paris, Bagnolet, and Montreuil. Bagnolet received a small part of the territory of Charonne. On 24 July 1867, a part of the territory of Bagnolet was detached and merged with a part of the territory of Romainville and a part of the territory of Pantin to create the commune of Les Lilas. The town used to be the home of the Château de Bagnolet. Population Its inhabitants are called ''Bagnoletais''. Gallieni (Paris Métro)
Gallieni (Parc de Bagnolet) () is a station on Paris Métro Line 3, being its eastern terminus. It is next door to a large international bus station serving bus services from Eurolines. Location The station is located under the Paris-Gallieni International Bus Station, in the heart of a motorway complex at the junction of the A3 autoroute and the Boulevard Périphérique Paris ring-road. Oriented along an east–west axis, it is preceded by or followed by the Porte de Bagnolet metro station. History It was opened on 2 April 1971 when the line was extended from Gambetta in order to improve the service to the town of Bagnolet. It has since been the new eastern terminus, replacing the previous terminus at Porte des Lilas, the section between the latter and Gambetta station, disconnected since 27 March 1971 and became the current line 3 bis. Château De Bagnolet, Paris
The Château de Bagnolet was a château situated in the Paris suburb of Bagnolet, France, 5.2 km from the center of the capital. The property was part of the '' biens de la Maison d'Orléans'', private property of the House of Orléans from 1719 till 1769. History The original château was constructed in the 17th century by Marie de Bourbon, Countess of Soissons and Princess of Carignano after her marriage to Prince Thomas Francis of Savoy. At her death in 1692, aged 86, the property was acquired by the ''fermier général'', François Le Juge. François Le Juge owned the property until 12 March 1719 when Philippe d'Orléans, (Regent of France during the minority of Louis XV), acquired it. The ''Régent'' gave the château de Bagnolet to his wife, Françoise Marie de Bourbon, a ''Légitimée de France'', daughter of Louis XIV and his mistress, Madame de Montespan. Lévy Koffi Djidji (born 30 November 1992) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Italian Serie A club Torino. Born in France, Djidji represents the Ivory Coast national team. Sylvain Distin
Sylvain Distin (born 16 December 1977) is a French former professional footballer. He is left-footed and played as a central defender, and was also capable of playing at left-back. Distin began his career playing for French amateur sides, working his way up to professional sides Gueugnon and subsequently Paris Saint-Germain. He moved to England in 2001, first joining Newcastle United on a loan move from PSG, before signing a permanent contract with Manchester City, where he spent five seasons. Georges Ibrahim Abdallah ( ar, جورج إبراهيم عبدالله), born on 2 April 1951, is a Lebanese communist militant and the longest held prisoner in Europe. He is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Charles R. Ray and Yacov Barismantov in Lannemezan jail in France. Cyril Kongo (also known as Kongo), (born 1969 as Cyril Phan in Toulouse, France) is a French painter and graffiti artist. Biography Born of a Vietnamese father and a French mother, Cyril Phan spent his early childhood in Vietnam, until the fall of Saigon in 1975.
