Bachelor Father (U.S. TV Series)
''Bachelor Father'' is an American sitcom starring John Forsythe, Noreen Corcoran and Sammee Tong. The series first premiered on CBS in September 1957 before moving to NBC for the third season in 1959. The series' fifth and final season aired on ABC. A total of 157 episodes were aired. The series was based on "A New Girl in His Life", which aired on ''General Electric Theater'' on May 26, 1957. ''Bachelor Father'' is the only primetime series ever to run in consecutive years on the three major television networks (ABC, CBS and NBC). Situation Comedy
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. Critics disagree over the utility of the term "sitcom" in classifying shows that have come into existence since the turn of the century. ''General Electric Theater'' was an American anthology series hosted by Ronald Reagan that was broadcast on CBS radio and television. The series was sponsored by General Electric's Department of Public Relations. Radio After an audition show on January 18, 1953, titled ''The Token'', with Dana Andrews, the radio series, a summer replacement for ''The Bing Crosby Program'', debuted on CBS on July 9, 1953, with Ronald Colman in an episode based on '' Random Harvest''. Aron Kincaid (born Norman Neale Williams II; June 15, 1940 – January 6, 2011) was an American actor, known for voicing Killer Croc on '' Batman: The Animated Series'' and Sky Lynx on '' The Transformers''. Sen Yung, later known professionally as Victor Sen Young (born Sen Yew Cheung; October 18, 1914 – c.
