Reception Ned Raggett of AllMusic awarded ''Outlive Your Enemies'' four out of five stars, describing the album as "brilliant" and saying "captured the duo still slamming out some gripping electronic rage, but with a new tunefulness and drama that made them even more special than before." The critic also said it "Babyland play around with a variety of sounds and approaches on ''Outlive'', some being newer takes on older approaches -- the synth-horn driven grandeur of "Hillhurst," the frazzled protest in "Mini Mall." You Suck Crap
''You Suck Crap'' is the debut studio album of Babyland, released in 1992 by Flipside Records. Reception Ned Raggett of AllMusic describes the album as "frenetic, outraged experimental techno-industrialized hardcore." The critic went on to note the band for "having made its reputation as a killer live-act playing self-described "electronic junk punk," translating that energy to CD inevitably lost the visual power of the band—the amount of metal cans, drums, and instrumentation the two normally work with is a sight to behold, as is Dan's totally in-your-face, anguished singing—but Crap still made a more-than-fine document of the duo's early sound. I Die:You Die said "''You Suck Crap'' occupies its own space outside of the genres it borrows from, which is perhaps why their “electronic junk punk” label continues to resonate" and "what makes it even more applicable is the consistency with which Smith and Gatto approach their distinct style, even while seemingly deviating f ...

Who's Sorry Now (Babyland Album)
''Who's Sorry Now?'' is the third studio album by Babyland, released on November 10, 1995 by Flipside Records. Reception Ned Raggett of AllMusic says "Babyland kicks in its third release very much following its established path from previous releases, but not shirking from tweaks and changes that Dan and Smith find them necessary." The critic went on to say "the duo's musical relationship was perhaps even stronger than before, bolstered by the years of performing together, which resulted in some fascinating, gripping new songs." ''Black Monday'' praised the album for showcasing the band's artistic growth and said "Babyland's style successfully blends elements of punk, techno, industrial/noise, and now even a little hip hop." Sonic Boom gave the album a mixed reception and said "audience ends up feeling restricted by the single channel of exchange and much of the message is lost in the translation." Flipside (fanzine)
''Flipside'', originally known as ''Los Angeles Flip Side,'' was a punk zine published in Whittier and Pasadena, California, from 1977 to 2000. The magazine was associated with its own record label, Flipside Records, releasing vinyl records and compact discs beginning in 1978. As one of the first and longest running U.S. punk rock fanzines, Flipside chronicled the independent and underground music scene. Known for its highly opinionated cast of writers, ''Flipside'' evolved from a photocopied fanzine to a magazine produced by web offset printing and featuring glossy covers. Publication history ''Los Angeles Flipside Fanzine'' was launched in 1977 in Whittier, California by five Whittier High School friends, Pooch (Patrick DiPuccio), Larry Lash (Steven Shoemaker), Tory, X-8 (Sam Diaz) and editor and publisher Al Kowalewski. The initial issues of the publication were produced by means of a photocopy machine, with Kowalewski's first modest goal set at selling 1,000 copies pe ...
