Bushmaster (DC Comics)
The Global Guardians is a team of DC Comics superheroes whose members hail from countries around the world. The concept originated in the '' Super Friends'' Saturday morning cartoon, which aired after the comics stories in '' Super Friends'' #7-9, in which several heroes ( Black Vulcan, Samurai, Apache Chief and El Dorado) were added to the Justice League to give it more ethnic diversity. Fictional team history The characters that would form the Global Guardians first appeared in the ''Super Friends'' comic book series. They were first introduced in a story (in ''Super Friends'' #7-9) in which an alien villain called Grax (an old Superman foe) planted bombs on Earth's seven continents to destroy it. Thanks to a warning from the Wonder Twins (in their first comic book appearance) the Justice League discovered the plan in time and recruited the heroes of the countries affected to find the bombs before they exploded. Ross Andru
Ross Andru (; born Rostislav Androuchkevitch, June 15, 1927 – November 9, 1993) Part 1: Animation: We Leave the Army", p. 21. In 1948, Andru's first professional work as a comic strip illustrator was drawing layouts for the ''Tarzan (comics), Tarzan'' newspaper strip. As his longtime partner Mike Esposito recalled, he and Andru were attending Burne Hogarth's Cartoonists and Illustrators School in 1947 when "Burne took Ross out of the class because he saw the talent he had and asked him, 'Would you like to assist me on ''Tarzan''? Apache Chief
Apache Chief is a Native American superhero from the various Hanna-Barbera '' Super Friends'' and '' Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law'' cartoons and the DC comic book series of the same name. He was one of the new heroes added (along with Black Vulcan, El Dorado and Samurai) to increase the number of non-white characters in the Super Friends' ranks. The visual look of the character was created by cartoonist Alex Toth, who designed many superheroes for Hanna-Barbera beginning in the 1960s. He was voiced by Michael Rye in most of his ''Super Friends'' appearances, Regis Cordic in his debut appearance, Al Fann in "History of Doom", and Maurice LaMarche in ''Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law''. In the '' Challenge of the Superfriends'' series, Apache Chief was seen in every episode except one, but had spoken lines in only nine out of the sixteen episodes of the series. Belphegor
Belphegor (or Baal Peor, Hebrew: בַּעַל-פְּעוֹר baʿal-pəʿōr – “''Lord of the Gap''”) is, in Christianity, a demon associated with one of the seven deadly sins. According to religious tradition, he helps people make discoveries. He seduces people by proposing incredible inventions that will make them rich. According to some demonologists from the 17th century, his powers are strongest in April. The German bishop and witch hunter Peter Binsfeld (ca. 1540–ca.1600) wrote that Belphegor tempts through laziness. According to Binsfeld's ''Classification of Demons'', Belphegor is the main demon of the deadly sin known as sloth in the Christian tradition. Justice Society Of America
The Justice Society of America (JSA) is a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. It was conceived by editor Sheldon Mayer and writer Gardner Fox during the Golden Age of Comic Books. It first appeared in '' All Star Comics'' #3 (Winter 1940–1941), making it the first team of superheroes in comic books. Its original members were Doctor Fate, Hourman, the Spectre, Sandman, Atom, the Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkman. The team was initially popular, but after superhero comics waned in the late 1940s, the JSA's adventures ceased with issue #57 of the title (March 1951).
