Brian Gallacher
Brian Gallacher (born 8 September 1958 in Glasgow) is a Scottish former football player. Gallacher played for Dumbarton, St Mirren, Kilmarnock, Partick Thistle, Albion Rovers and Inverness Caledonian. His father Tommy, grandfather Patsy, uncle Willie and cousin Kevin were also footballers, and they related to another footballing branch of the family, John Divers and his son of the same name who both played for Celtic. The competition was founded in 1883 and is contested annually by senior member clubs of the Stirlingshire Football Association. John Divers (footballer, Born 1940)
John Divers (8 March 1940 – 23 September 2014) was a Scottish footballer who played for Celtic and Partick Thistle. Playing career Club Born in Clydebank, Divers was the son of former Scottish international John Divers and grand-nephew of ex-Celtic player Patsy Gallacher. He played 248 games for Celtic between November 1957 and September 1965. Playing mostly as an inside left, he scored 110 goals for the club, which helped gain him a reputation as a skilful, clever and hard working player. He contributed to Celtic's nine consecutive league championships in a row by scoring the first goal of that period, away against Dundee United in 1965. After joining Partick Thistle in the early part of the 1966–67 season, he later retired from the Senior game in 1969 to attend Strathclyde University. John Divers (footballer Born 1911)
John Divers (6 August 1911 – 8 June 1984) was a Scottish footballer, who played for Celtic, Morton, Oldham Athletic and the Scottish national side. Career Divers was born in Clydebank, Dunbartonshire. He was a creative, goal-scoring but tough inside left, who joined Celtic from Renfrew Juniors in 1932. He helped the club to win the Scottish league championship in 1937–38 and was also the creative mastermind behind its victory in the Empire Exhibition Trophy of summer 1938, when Celtic beat Everton 1–0 in the final, before winning a Glasgow Cup at the end of the same year. He made 70 League appearances for the club, but played over 200 matches overall including unofficial wartime games (he did not see frontline service, instead working in a reserved occupation in the local shipyards, so was able to continue playing).
