Bray, Berkshire
Bray, occasionally Bray on Thames, is a suburban village and civil parish in the Windsor and Maidenhead district, in the ceremonial county of Berkshire. It sits on the banks of the River Thames, to the southeast of Maidenhead with which it is contiguous. The village is mentioned in the comedic song " The Vicar of Bray". Bray contains two of the nine three- Michelin-starred restaurants in the United Kingdom and has several large business premises including Bray Studios at Water Oakley, where the first series of Hammer Horror films were produced. Bray / Daly Railway Station (''Stáisiún Bhré / Uí Dhálaigh'' in Irish) is a station in Bray in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is located adjacent to Bray seafront and is 600 m from Bray Main Street via Florence Road or Quinsborough Road. Bray marks the end of the double track line from Dublin and is the end point for most suburban services, with train stabling facilities convenient to the station. Routes DART From the inception of the Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) service in 1984 until its extension south to Greystones in 2000, Bray was the southern terminus, with a large number of sidings just south of the station for stabling trains. Although some DARTs now continue southwards to Greystones, the majority still terminate in Bray. Bray (born Brayden Gurnari; October 17, 1972), is an American musician and singer-songwriter, whose work incorporates rock, pop, and electro funk. Making his debut as early as 2003, he has released eight studio albums and one live album. He is known for his theatrical and somewhat comedic performance style. Early life and education Bray was born in Vallejo, California. He showed interest in art, music and performance as early as age 7, putting on neighborhood concerts using guitars made out of cardboard boxes. Through encouragement from his parents, young Brayden began singing the songs, rather than lip syncing, and was soon on his way toward becoming a promising young singer and performer. Artists most commonly recognized as influences include Prince, David Bowie and Michael Jackson. Bray Head
Bray Head () is a hill and headland located in northern County Wicklow, Ireland, between the towns of Bray and Greystones. It forms part of the Wicklow Mountains and is a popular spot with hillwalkers. At the top of the head is a concrete cross which was placed there in 1950 during the holy year. Every Good Friday, hundreds of local people climb to the top of the head in a Good Friday procession marking the stations of the Cross as they go along, with the final station being held at the holy year cross. The headland and adjacent lands were designated under a Special Amenity Area Order in March 2008. The most direct way to reach the cross at the top (about 190m above sea level) is via an ascending footpath that begins just outside the free car park on the lower, northern slopes, to the south of Bray Esplanade. The Bray Place in Louisville, Kentucky refers to the early farmstead and home built in 1796 by Major Samuel E. Bray and his wife, Nancy Lyle Bray from Virginia. The was granted by Thomas Jefferson (through William Fleming) to Bray as payment for serving in the Revolutionary War and surveying what was then Virginia. It was bordered by what is now Bardstown Road, Goldsmith Lane and Hikes Lane. The original neighbors were Edward Hikes, Andrew Hikes, and John & Lucy Speed who were parents of Joshua & James Speed. Abraham Lincoln visited the area in August, 1841 for 3 weeks after breaking his engagement with Mary Todd due to her parents’ disapproval of the match.
