Bowen University is a private Baptist Christian Nigerian university located at Iwo in Osun State, Nigeria. It is affiliated with the Nigerian Baptist Convention. History The university was founded on 17 July 2001 by the Nigerian Baptist Convention in the old 1,300-acre (6 km2) campus of the Baptist College. The Federal Government of Nigeria approved the establishment of the university and it was subsequently licensed to operate by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Bowen's Court was a historic country house or Anglo-Irish big house near Kildorrery in County Cork, Ireland. House The house was built in the 1770s by Henry Cole Bowen (died 1788) and the design has tentatively been attributed to Isaac Rothery or his sons who designed nearby Doneraile Court and was also involved in the completion of Mount Ievers Court. The Bowen family were minor Irish gentry, of Welsh origin traced back to the late 1500s resident in County Cork since Henry Bowen, a "notoriously irreligious" Colonel in the army of the regicide Cromwell, settled in Ireland. In 1786, the house was referred to as Faraghy, the seat of Mr. Cole Bowen. The house was inherited by his son, Henry Cole Bowen who married Catherine, daughter of Henry Prittie, 1st Baron Dunalley. Bowen Road () is a road from the Mid-Levels to Wong Nai Chung Gap of Hong Kong Island, on the slope above Central, Wan Chai and Happy Valley in Hong Kong. Bowen Road starts from Magazine Gap Road near the rail of Peak Tram and ends at the junction with Stubbs Road, Tai Hang Road and Wong Nai Chung Gap Road. Today the road is a popular route for joggers and dog walkers. History The road was named after Sir George Bowen, an Ulsterman who served as the 9th Governor of Hong Kong from 1883 to 1885. It was colloquially called "Third Road" by residents in Hong Kong for being the third east–west road from the shore at that time. "First Road" and "Second Road" were Queen's Road and Kennedy Road respectively. As Hong Kong lacked fresh water at that time, Tai Tam Reservoir was built in Tai Tam Valley. Mount Joyce () is a prominent, dome-shaped mountain, high, standing northwest of Mount Howard in the Prince Albert Mountains of Victoria Land, Antarctica. Exploration and name Mount Joyce was first mapped by the British Antarctic Expedition, 1907–09, which named it for Ernest Joyce who was in charge of general stores, dogs, sledges, and zoological collections with the expedition and who had earlier been with the British National Antarctic Expedition, 1901–04. Bowen is a small lunar impact crater that is located to the southwest of the Montes Haemus, on the edge of a small lunar mare named the Lacus Doloris. It was named after American astronomer Ira S. Bowen. It is distinguished only by having a relatively flat floor, rather than being bowl-shaped like most small craters. Bowen was previously designated Manilius A. Description Bowen Mountain is the seventh-highest peak of the Never Summer Mountains which are a subrange of the Rocky Mountains. The mountain is set in the Never Summer Wilderness on land managed by Arapaho National Forest. It is situated along the Continental Divide with the summit offset by approximately one-half mile.
