Bob Ley
Robert A. Ley ( ; born March 16, 1955) is an American sports anchor and reporter, best known for his work at ESPN. A multiple Emmy Award-winner, he was the longest-tenured on-air employee of the network, having joined ESPN just three days after the network's 1979 launch and retiring from the network effective at the end of June 2019. Early life and education Ley was born in Newark, New Jersey. He grew up in Bloomfield, New Jersey, where he attended Bloomfield High School. He got his start in broadcasting as a sportscaster and program director at WSOU at Seton Hall University, and interned as a production staffer at WOR-AM in New York City. After graduating ''magna cum laude'' with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, Ley worked several minor broadcasting jobs, including public address announcer with the New York Cosmos soccer team, before landing his first major position with ESPN just three days after the network's launch in 1979. Charley Steiner
Charles Harris Steiner (born July 17, 1949) is an American sportscaster and broadcast journalist. He is currently the radio play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers, paired with Rick Monday. Early life and education Steiner was born in 1949 in Forest Hills, Queens, New York City. He grew up a Brooklyn Dodgers fan in a Jewish family in Malverne, New York, already idolizing Vin Scully at the age of seven. He attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, graduating in 1971. Early career Steiner began his career as a newscaster for WIRL radio in Peoria, in 1969, while still a student at Bradley. WSOU-FM
WSOU (89.5 FM) is a non-commercial, student-run college radio station. The station broadcasts from the campus of Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. History WSOU began broadcasting on 89.5 FM on April 14, 1948, under the direction of Monsignor Thomas J. Gillhooly, the station's first faculty director. It was the first college-owned FM station in New Jersey and one of the first FM stations in the United States. Given the assignment by then-Seton Hall University president Monsignor James Kelly to create a radio station, Monsignor Gillhooly got WSOU up and running in just three months and provided a steady hand during the station's early days. Assisting Monsignor Gillhooly in building WSOU was the station's longtime chief engineer Tom Parnham, who helped construct the station and then remained with WSOU.
