Bloomington Flex
The Bloomington Flex were a professional minor league basketball team based in Bloomington, Illinois. The Flex last played in the Midwest Professional Basketball Association (MPBA) in 2015. History Formed in 2011 as the Central Illinois Drive, they were a member of the Premier Basketball League (PBL) for three seasons. 2012 season The Flex played the 2012 PBL season as the expansion Central Illinois Drive. The Drive finished the 2012 regular season 18–1 and swept the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Steamers in the first round of the PBL playoffs. On April 14, 2012, the Drive completed a two-game sweep of the defending PBL champions, the Rochester RazorSharks, at U.S Cellular Coliseum to win the 2012 PBL Championship. Midwest Professional Basketball Association
The Midwest Professional Basketball Association (MPBA) was a professional men's basketball league that began play in January 2015. The six charter members were: Bloomington Flex, Champaign Swarm, Chicago Force, Gateway Steam, St. Louis RiverSharks and Windy City Groove. Of the six inaugural season teams, only the Bloomington Flex have previously competed. The Flex were 2012 and 2013 champions of the Premier Basketball League (PBL). After a perfect 18-0 record in 2014, the team was suspended and then dismissed from the PBL by league officials after a scheduling conflict in the 2014 PBL playoffs. Buffalo 716ers
The Buffalo 716ers were a basketball team based in Buffalo, New York, they played in the PBL. The 716ers were originally granted an expansion team with the American Basketball Association., before joining the IBA. The team takes its name from area code 716, the telephone area code for Buffalo and much of the rest of western New York. Home games were originally played at Tapestry Charter School. The team then played home games at the Burt Flickinger Center in downtown Buffalo. The team owner, and head coach, is Tawan Slaughter, a native of the Buffalo area. The Independent Basketball Association (IBA) was a semi-professional men's basketball league that began play in the fall of 2011. The six charter members were Battle Creek Knights, Chicago Redline, Gary Splash, Kankakee County Soldiers, Lake County Stars and Rockford Riverdawgs. The IBA played two separate seasons each calendar year: a Spring season (March–June) and a Fall season (September–January). Teams competed in one or both league competitions.
