''Blood and Sand'' is a play in four acts by Tom Cushing. Tom Cushing
Charles Cyprian Strong Cushing (October 27, 1879 – March 6, 1941) was an American playwright who wrote under the name Tom Cushing. Biography Cushing was born in New Haven, Connecticut, the son of William Lee Cushing, founder and headmaster of the Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut, and Mary Lewis Strong Cushing. His aunt was mathematics professor Eleanor P. Cushing. He attended Westminster and later Yale University, where he was a member of Skull and Bones. He graduated in 1902. He was a tutor in the English Sudan in 1903 and a teacher of English and Greek at Westminster from 1909 to 1917. During World War II, he served in France in the entertainment division of the YMCA. Cushing died at Baker Memorial Hospital in Boston following an operation for a brain tumor. Alfred Romaine Callender (February17, 1883February5, 1976) was an English born American actor of stage and screen. He should not be confused with several other men in his family also known publicly as Romaine Callendar, including his father, the stage actor Edwin Romaine Callendar (1845-1922), and his uncle, the music educator, conductor, composer, organ builder, and book author William Romaine Callender (1859-1930). Callender began his career as a stage actor in 1906 performing with Robert B. Mantell's Shakespeare company. He had a prolific career as an actor on Broadway from 1910 through 1935. Dodd, Mead and Company was one of the pioneer publishing houses of the United States, based in New York City. Under several names, the firm operated from 1839 until 1990. History Origins In 1839, Moses Woodruff Dodd (1813–1899) and John S. Taylor, at that time a leading publisher in New York, formed the company of Taylor and Dodd as a publisher of religious books. John Rogers (actor)
John Edward Rogers (28 August 1888 – 31 July 1963) was a British stage and film actor active in American cinema. He was the son of English playwright Charles Rogers and brother of actors Charles and Gerald Rogers. A character actor, he played a number of supporting roles in the 1930s. These grew increasingly smaller during the 1940s where he was often uncredited. His final handful of appearances were in television during the 1950s. He was often cast in London-set productions, including '' Raffles'' and '' Charlie Chan in London''.
