Blindleia
Blindleia is an long inland waterway in the municipality of Lillesand in Agder county, Norway. The strait starts in the ''Gamle Hellesund'' or ''Ulvøysund'' areas in southern HøvÃ¥g in the southwest (near Kristiansand) and it continues northeast past the town of Lillesand. It is a salt water fjord passage that is protected from the open sea by an elongated archipelago of skerries and larger islands. There are several narrow gaps as part of the waterway, some of them only wide. Kvåsefjorden
Kvåsefjorden is an approximately long fjord in Agder county, Norway. It forms part of the border between the municipalities of Lillesand and Kristiansand. The district of Randesund lies on the west side of the fjord in Kristiansand. The fjord empties into the Skagerrak at ''Meholmen'' near Ulvøysund, which is considered to be the western starting point of the Blindleia strait. Blindleia is the inner shipping route along the coast of Lillesand. The smaller Isefjærfjorden is a branch off the main Kvåsefjorden. Justøy
Justøya or Justøy is an island in Lillesand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The island lies just south of the town of Lillesand with the Skaggerak to the east and the Blindleia strait and the mainland to the west. The name comes from Old Norse word ''Jóstr''. At , Justøy is one of Agder county's largest islands. Justøya is connected to the mainland by the narrow long ''Justøybrua'' bridge, built in 1949. There are about 360 residents on the island located in scattered settlements across the island. The old outport, Brekkestø, lies on the south side of the island. Lillesand (town)
Lillesand is the administrative centre of Lillesand municipality in Agder county, Norway. The town is located along the Skaggerak coast, about southwest of the town of Grimstad and about northeast of the city of Kristiansand. Gamle Hellesund
Gamle Hellesund is an outport in the Høvåg area in the municipality of Lillesand in Agder county, Norway. It is located on the island of ''Helløya'' in the coastal archipelago about halfway between the village of Ulvøysund to the southwest and Åkerøyhamn to the northeast. The small village is only accessible by boat. Historically, the village served as an outport along the Blindleia strait for boats coming from the Skaggerak. Ulvøysund
Ulvøysund is a village and an outport in the municipality of Lillesand in Agder county, Norway. The village lies on the east side of the Kvåsefjorden on the island of Ulvøya. Just northeast of Ulvøysund is the entrance to the Blindleia inland waterway which leads towards the town of Lillesand. The village is connected to the mainland by road. The nearby village of Ribe lies about straight north of Ulvøysund. The village was historically used as an outport along the Skaggerak coast for the large ships that couldn't navigate inland through the archipelago to the towns on the mainland. History The oldest sign of activity in Ulvøysund, is an old shipwreck on the approach of Kvåsefjorden. Høvåg (historically: ''Høvaag'') is a former municipality in the old Aust-Agder county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1865 until its dissolution in 1962. Agder
Agder is a county (''fylke'') and traditional region in the southern part of Norway. The county was established on 1 January 2020, when the old Vest-Agder and Aust-Agder counties were merged. Since the early 1900s, the term Sørlandet ("south country, south land, southland") has been commonly used for this region, sometimes with the inclusion of neighbouring Rogaland. Before that time, the area was considered a part of Western Norway.
