Blessing Erifeta
Blessing Avbenayeri Erifeta (born 17 April 1964) is the incumbent Bishop of Sapele in the Anglican Province of Bendel in the Church of Nigeria. Erifeta is a graduate of Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan; Delta State University, Abraka (B.A (Ed) Hons, 2004); National Open University of Nigeria (M.Sc. PCR) and Crowther Graduate Theology Seminary, Abeokuta ((M.Div) 2011). He was installed as the first Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Sapele on 12 January 2009. Erifeta was involved in a long-running dispute in 2015 and 2016 with his parishioners over alleged financial irregularities. Anglican Province Of Bendel
The Bendel Province is one of the fourteen ecclesiastical provinces of the Church of Nigeria. It comprises thirteen dioceses, each one headed by a bishop and it was created in 2002, when the current division into provinces was adopted. His headquarters are located in Asaba. The first Archbishop of the Bendel Province was Albert Agbaje, who died in 2005. He was succeeded by Nicholas Okoh, latter replaced upon his election as Primate of Nigeria by Friday John Imaekhai in 2010. In 2020 Cyril Odutemu became Archbishop of Bendel. The Church of Nigeria is the Anglican church in Nigeria. The Delta State University, Abraka - popularly known as DELSU - is a State government-owned university in Nigeria with the main campus located at Abraka, Delta State and it's sub campus at Oleh. The Oleh campus was established with the 1995 Amended Edict. The university is a multiple-campus university having two campuses within a distance of about 200 km apart. Nicholas Dikeriehi Orogodo Okoh (born 10 November 1952, at Owa-Alero in the Delta State) is the former archbishop of Abuja Province and primate of the Church of Nigeria in the Anglican Communion. He retired on 25 March 2020. He has been married to Nkasiobi Amaechi since 1986 and they have five children. Ecclesiastical career The son of poor peasant farmers, his initial education was at St. Michael's (Anglican) School, in Owa-Alero, from 1958 to 1964, when he got his First School Leaving Certificate. He worked then for four years at his uncle's business, until starting his own. He joined the Nigerian Army in 1969, having not yet been confirmed. He fought in the Nigerian Civil War in 1970, losing his faith at the end of hostilities. He had a sudden conversion in early 1971, reading then the entire Bible.
