Bishop Herman College
Bishop Herman College, sometimes abbreviated to BIHECO, is a boys-only second-cycle institution located at Kpando in the Volta Region of Ghana. History Bishop Herman College was the first Catholic boys secondary school established by the Roman Catholic Church in the Volta Region of Ghana. The college was founded by Dutch missionaries and is named after French missionary, Bishop Augustine Herman, who served in the Keta Diocese from 1923 to 1945. The school is under the administration of the archdiocese of Ho, and its motto is "Sicut Miles Christi" ("As Soldiers of Christ"). The nickname for the college is BIHECO, and the students are called BIHECANS and alumni are called BHOBU (Bishop Herman Old Boys Union). Volta Region
Volta Region (or Volta) is one of Ghana's sixteen administrative regions, with Ho designated as its capital. It is located west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Divided into 25 administrative districts, the region is multi-ethnic and multilingual, including groups such as the Ewe, the Guan, and the Akan people. Edmond Kofi Agbenutse Deh is a Ghanaian diplomat and civil servant. Early life and education Edmond was born on 23 January 1959. He had his secondary education at Bishop Herman College, Kpando from 1970 to 1977 and his tertiary education at the University of Ghana, Legon (from 1980 to 1985) which included a one-year abroad studies at the Centre International, de Francais, Langue, Etrangere, Lome, Togo (from 1982 to 1983). He entered the Academy of Social Science, Sofia, Bulgaria in April 1986 to pursue a certificate in International Relations completing in August that same year. Education in Ghana uses a dualistic approach encompassing both formal and informal learning systems. The current formal educational system was introduced during European colonisation. However, learning systems existed prior to that. The Moliyili, University of Moliyili is one of the earliest learning centers in Ghana established in the 1700s.
