Bevo (mascot)
Bevo is the live mascot of the athletic programs at the University of Texas at Austin. Bevo is a Texas Longhorn steer with burnt orange and white coloring from which the university derived its color scheme. The profile of the Longhorn's head and horns gives rise to the school's hand symbol and saying, " Hook 'em Horns". The most recent Bevo, Bevo XV, was introduced to Texas football fans on September 4, 2016. His predecessor, Bevo XIV, died of cancer on October 16, 2015. Bevo XV is owned by Betty and John Baker's Sunrise Ranch in Liberty Hill, Texas; Sunrise Ranch also owned Bevo XV's predecessors Bevo XIII and Bevo XIV. Texas Longhorn (cattle)
The Texas Longhorn is an American breed of beef cattle, characterized by its long horns, which can span more than from tip to tip. It derives from cattle brought from the Iberian Peninsula to the Americas by Spanish conquistadors from the time of the Second Voyage of Christopher Columbus until about 1512. For hundreds of years the cattle lived a semi-feral existence on the rangelands; they have a higher tolerance of heat and drought than most European breeds. The coat can be of any color or mix of colors; in some 40% of the cattle it is some shade of red, often a light red. In the twenty-first century, the Longhorn is considered a part of the cultural heritage of Texas. Ricky Williams
Errick Miron (born Errick Lynne Williams Jr.; May 21, 1977), known professionally as Ricky Williams, is an American former professional football running back who played for 11 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) and one season in the Canadian Football League (CFL). After playing baseball and football at Patrick Henry High School, he played college football for the Texas Longhorns, where he was a two-time unanimous All-American and won the 1998 Heisman Trophy. He broke the NCAA Division I-A records for career rushing yards and all-purpose yards during his senior season. Uga ( ) is the official live mascot of the University of Georgia Georgia Bulldogs, Bulldogs. 2019 Sugar Bowl
The 2019 Sugar Bowl was a college football bowl game played on January 1, 2019. It was the 85th edition of the Sugar Bowl, and one of the 2018–19 bowl games concluding the 2018 FBS football season. Sponsored by the Allstate insurance company, the game was officially known as the Allstate Sugar Bowl. About an hour before the game Texas live mascot, Bevo attacked Georgia's mascot, Uga. Teams The Sugar Bowl matches the champions of the Big 12 Conference and Southeastern Conference (SEC), unless a champion team is selected for the College Football Playoff, in which case another team from the same conference is invited. Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest livestock exhibition and rodeo in the world. It includes one of the richest regular-season professional rodeo events. It has been held at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, since 2003, with the exception of 2021 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was previously held at the Astrodome. In 2007, the rodeo was deemed "the year of the volunteer." In 2017, attendance reached a record high of 2,611,176 people and 33,000 volunteers. 2005 Texas Longhorns Football Team
The 2005 Texas Longhorns football team represented the University of Texas at Austin during the 2005 NCAA Division I-A football season, winning the Big 12 Conference championship and the national championship. The team was coached by Mack Brown, led on offense by quarterback Vince Young, and played its home games at Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium. The team's penultimate victory of the season, the Big 12 Championship Game, featured the biggest margin of victory in the history of that contest. They finished the season by winning the 2006 Rose Bowl against the USC Trojans for the national championship. The 2004 Texas Longhorns football team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 2004 NCAA Division I-A football season. The team was coached by head football coach Mack Brown and led on the field by quarterback Vince Young. Ranked third in wins in Division I-A college football history, the University of Texas has traditionally been considered a college football powerhouse, but Brown had not managed to lead the Longhorns into a Bowl Championship Series (BCS) game.
