Bert Lenne
Hubert Carl "Bert" Lenne (2 August 1889 – 19 November 1973) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy Football Club, Fitzroy and St Kilda Football Club, St Kilda in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). Lenne played as a defender, most often at full-back, and spent 13 seasons with Fitzroy from his debut in 1910. A premiership player in 1913 and 1916, Lenne left Fitzroy after being omitted from their 1922 VFL Grand Final, 1922 Grand Final side. He finished his career with two seasons at St Kilda. In 1927, Lenne was appointed as captain / coach of the Benalla Football Club in the Ovens & Murray Football League. St Kilda, Victoria
St Kilda is an inner seaside suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 6 km (4 miles) south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Port Phillip local government area. St Kilda recorded a population of 19,490 at the 2021 census. The Traditional Owners of St Kilda are the Yaluk-ut Weelam clan of the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. St Kilda was named by Charles La Trobe, then superintendent of the Port Phillip District, after a schooner, ''Lady of St Kilda'', which moored at the main beach in early 1842. Ovens & Murray Football League
The Ovens and Murray Football Netball League (O&MFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition containing ten clubs based in north-eastern Victoria, the southern Riverina region of New South Wales and the Ovens and Murray area. The name comes from the Ovens River, the river in the part of north-eastern Victoria covered by the league, and the Murray River, which separates Victoria and New South Wales. The league features three grades in the Australian rules football competition, with these being First-Grade, Reserve-Grade and Under 18s. In the netball competition, there are four grades, with these being A-Grade, B-Grade, C-Grade and Under 16s. Currently a home and away season consisting of eighteen rounds is played. The best five teams then play off according to the McIntyre System, culminating in the O&MFNL Grand Final, which from 1995 to 2017 was held at the Lavington Sports Ground in the Albury suburb of Hamilton Valley. Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional sports, professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the Laws of Australian football, laws of the game. Originally known as the Victorian Football League (VFL), it was founded in 1896 as a breakaway competition from the Victorian Football Association (VFA), with 1897 VFL season, its inaugural season commencing the following year. The VFL, aiming to become a national competition, began expanding beyond Victoria (Australia), Victoria to other Australian states in the 1980s, and changed its name to the AFL in 1990.
