Eliezer Berland (; born December 26, 1937) is an Israeli Orthodox Judaism, Orthodox Jewish rabbi, convicted sex offender and fraudster affiliated with the Breslov (Hasidic dynasty), Breslov Hasidic Judaism, Hasidic movement in Israel. He is rosh yeshiva of Yeshivat Shuvu Bonim, also known as Yeshivat Nechamat Zion, in the Muslim Quarter (Jerusalem), Muslim Quarter of the Old City (Jerusalem), Old City of Jerusalem. The movement is sometimes viewed as being a sect. Berland is a member of Vaad Olami D'Chasedai Breslov (World Committee of Breslov Chassidim), "the supervisory council for many Breslov activities." Jean-Louis Berlandier (1803 – 1851) was a French-Mexican natural history, naturalist, physician, and anthropologist. Early life Berlandier was born in Geneva, and later trained as a Botany, botanist there. During this time he probably served an apprenticeship to a pharmacist. Career In his early 20s on the recommendation of his mentor, Auguste Pyrame De Candolle, he joined a Mexico, Mexican scientific expedition as a biologist and plant specialist.
