Ben Tudhope
Ben Tudhope (born 13 December 1999) is an Australian Paralympian who has competed in para-snowboarding, para-snowboard cross at three Winter Paralympics 2014 to 2022. His selection at the age of 14 at the 2014 Winter Paralympics meant that he became Australia's youngest Winter Paralympian, replacing Michael Milton (skier), Michael Milton. He was the youngest competitor at the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games from any country. He also competed at the 2018 Winter Paralympics. At the 2022 Winter Paralympics, he won the bronze medal in the Men's Snowboard Cross SB-LL2. Personal Ben Tudhope was born with cerebral palsy due to a lack of oxygen to the brain during his birth and damage caused to the white matter in his brain, which caused hemiplegia on the left side of his body and damage connecting nerve tissue vital for movement. Para-snowboarding
Para snowboard is a winter sport consisting of racing down a snow-covered surface while standing or sitting on a snowboard. An adaptation of snowboarding for athletes with physical impairments in different classifications, it is governed by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS). The parasport comprises five events: snowboard cross, team snowboard cross, banked slalom, dual banked slalom, and giant slalom. At the Winter Paralympic Games, Para snowboard events were included as part of the Para alpine skiing programme in 2014, and has been its own Paralympic sport since 2018. The men's banked slalom competition of the 2018 Winter Paralympics was held at Jeongseon Alpine Centre in South Korea. The competition took place on 16 March 2018. Nick Farr-Jones
Nicholas Campbell Farr-Jones AM (born 18 April 1962) is a former Australian rugby union player, who played as a scrum-half. He debuted for the Australia national team during the 1984 tour of Britain and Ireland. Farr-Jones was named "Player of the Series" for the 1986 tour of New Zealand, where Australia became the sixth team to win a test series there. He was appointed captain of the Wallabies in 1988 and is best known for leading the team to victory in the 1991 Rugby World Cup. Farr-Jones retired from international rugby in 1992 but briefly returned in 1993 for the Bledisloe Cup and a series against South Africa. Sport Australia Hall Of Fame
The Sport Australia Hall of Fame was established on 10 December 1985 to recognise the achievements of Australian sportsmen and sportswomen. The inaugural induction included 120 members with Don Bradman, Sir Don Bradman as the first inductee and Dawn Fraser the first female inductee. In 1989, the Hall of Fame was expanded to include associate members who have assisted in the development of sport in Australia. In 2012, there were 518 members. Each year the Hall of Fame inducts notable retired athletes, associate members and upgrades one member to 'legend' status. Mitchell Gourley
Mitchell Gourley (born 2 June 1991) is an Australian Para-alpine skiing, Paralympic alpine skier who competed for Australia in the Downhill skiing, downhill, super-G, giant slalom, Slalom skiing, slalom and super combined events at four Winter Paralympics - 2010 to 2022. He was Australian team co-captain with Joany Badenhorst at the 2018 Winter Paralympics. At the 2022 Winter Paralympics, he and Melissa Perrine carried the Australian flag in the opening ceremony. Mogul Skiing
Mogul skiing is a freestyle skiing, freestyle skiing competition consisting of one timed run of free skiing on a steep, heavily moguled course, stressing technical turns, aerial maneuvers and speed. Internationally, the sport is contested at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships, and at the Freestyle skiing at the Winter Olympics, Winter Olympic Games. Moguls are a series of bumps on a piste formed when skiers push snow into mounds as they do sharp turns. This tends to happen naturally as skiers use the slope but they can also be constructed artificially. Once formed, a naturally occurring mogul tends to grow as skiers follow similar paths around it, further deepening the surrounding grooves known as troughs.
