Daniel Behle
Daniel Behle (born 1974) is a German classical composer and operatic tenor. He has performed at international opera houses and festivals, and has recorded both operas and ''Lieder'' recitals. Career Born in Hamburg, Behle studied music pedagogy, trombone and composition at the music school in his home town. He took voice lessons from age 22 with his mother, the dramatic soprano Renate Behle. After graduating in trombone playing, he studied voice for five years with tenor James Wagner. In 2003, Behle changed to the class of his mother. He completed both his composition studies with Peter Michael Hamel and the voice studies with distinction. His first operatic engagement was at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater. With the 2005/06 season, he turned to the Vienna Volksoper. From the 2007/08 season, he was for two years a member of the Frankfurt Opera, but has returned, for example to appear as Erik in Wagner's ''Der fliegende Holländer'', his first Wagner role. Renate Behle
Renate Behle (née Summer; born 3 April 1945) is an Austrian operatic mezzo-soprano and soprano who made an international career, based in Germany. She was professor of voice at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg from 2000 to 2010. Career Born in Graz, Behle studied voice there and in Rome for six years. In parallel, she also studied history and philosophy at the University of Graz. Her first engagement as a lyric mezzo-soprano was in 1968 at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where she performed several trousers roles. In 1971, she married an oboist of the NDR and only performed in guest roles, such as Dorabella in Mozart's ''Così fan tutte'' at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt, as Cherubino in his ''Le nozze di Figaro'' at the Theater Hagen, and as the Gymnasiast (schoolboy) in Berg's ''Lulu'' in Lisbon and Graz. Jochen Behle
Jochen Behle (born 7 July 1960 in Korbach, Hesse) is a former (West) German cross-country skier who competed from 1980 to 1998. Competing in six Winter Olympics, he earned his best career finish of fourth in the 4 × 10 km relay at Lillehammer in 1994 and his best individual finish of 11th in the 10 km event at those same games. Behle's best finish at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships was fifth in the 10 km event at Falun in 1993. His only World Cup victory was in a 50 km event in Canada in 1989. In West Germany, the phrase ''"Wo ist Behle?"'' ("Where is Behle?") became famous when during a TV broadcast of the 1980 Olympic Games in Lake Placid, the commentator couldn't find Behle and worriedly repeated this question.Article
