The primary beer brewed and consumed in Chile is pale lager, though the country also has a tradition of brewing corn beer, known as chicha. Cerveza Cristal (lit. ''Cristal Beer'') is a Chilean brand of pilsner beer, introduced in 1977 and sold by Compañía de Cervecerías Unidas (CCU). History The brand was registered as "Pilsener Cristal" in August 1977 and its commercial launch occurred in 1978. In 1993, it was relaunched as "Cerveza Cristal", and in that same year, it adopted the motto "Única, Grande y Nuestra" ("Unique, Great and Ours"). Pisco
Pisco is a colorless or yellowish-to-amber-colored spirit produced in winemaking regions of Peru and Chile. Made by distilling fermented grape juice into a high-proof spirit, it was developed by 16th-century Spanish settlers as an alternative to orujo, a pomace brandy that was being imported from Spain. Máfil
Máfil (Mapudungun for ''embraced between rivers'') is a city and commune of the Valdivia Province, Los Ríos Region in southern Chile, about 30 km northeast of Valdivia. The commune is the site of a dairy industry and the town of Máfil a local centre of commerce and services such as basic education and a community health center.
