Beaker (Muppet)
Beaker is a The Muppets, Muppet character from the sketch comedy television series ''The Muppet Show.'' He is the shy, long-suffering assistant of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, and is also similarly named after a piece of Beaker (glassware), laboratory equipment. During the first season of ''The Muppet Show'', Dr. Honeydew presented the Muppet Labs segments by himself; Beaker was added as his lab assistant from the second season on. Beaker has Exophthalmos, bulging eyes that can light up like a lamp, a shock of red hair, and a drawbridge mouth which serves as a frown. He was originally puppeteered and voiced by Richard Hunt (puppeteer), Richard Hunt until Hunt's death in 1992, when the role was taken over primarily by Steve Whitmire. "Danny Boy" is a folk song with lyrics written by English lawyer Frederic Weatherly in 1910, and set to the traditional Irish melody of " Londonderry Air" in 1913. History In 1910, in Bath, Somerset, England, the English lawyer and lyricist Frederic Weatherly initially wrote the words of "Danny Boy" to a tune other than "Londonderry Air". One story is that his sister-in-law Margaret Enright Weatherly (known as "Jess") sent him a copy of "Londonderry Air" in 1913, and Weatherly modified the lyrics of "Danny Boy" to fit its rhyme and meter. "Ode to Joy" ( ) is an ode written in the summer of 1785 by the German poet, playwright, and historian Friedrich Schiller. "Feelings" is a song by the Brazilian singer Morris Albert, who also wrote the lyrics. Albert released "Feelings" in 1974 as a single and later included it as the title track of his 1975 debut album. Animal is a Muppet character from the sketch comedy television series ''The Muppet Show'', and the wild and frenzied drummer of the fictional band Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.
