Bad was the first solo concert tour by the American singer Michael Jackson, launched in support of his seventh studio album ''Bad (album), Bad'' (1987). The 123-show world tour began on September 12, 1987 in Japan, and concluded on January 27, 1989 in the United States, and sponsored by soft drink manufacturer Pepsi. The Jackson 5 World Tour
The Jackson 5 World Tour was the fifth overall concert tour and the first world tour undertaken by the American band the Jackson 5. The tour began on March 2, 1973, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and it is unknown where the tour concluded in late December 1975. The tour was the biggest undertaken by the Jackson 5 during the band's lifetime, with over 385 concerts in a three-year period. The SynthAxe is a fretted, guitar-like MIDI controller, created by Bill Aitken, Mike Dixon, and Tony Sedivy and manufactured in England in 1985. It is a musical instrument that uses electronic synthesizers to produce sound and is controlled through the use of an arm resembling the neck of a guitar in form and in use. Its name comes from the words ''synthesizer'' and ''axe'', a slang term meaning a guitar in rock music. The system was developed as a joint venture funded by Richard Branson's Virgin Group. The SynthAxe itself has no internal sound source; it is purely a controller and needs synthesizers to produce sound. The neck of the instrument is angled upwards from the body, and there are two independent sets of strings. David Williams (November 21, 1950 – March 6, 2009) was an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer best known as a prominent session guitarist for stars including Madonna and Michael Jackson. Background Williams grew up in Newport News, Virginia. At a young age he was influenced by Kenny Burrell, Wes Montgomery and other jazz artists. Career Williams later began his professional music career with The Dells, a R&B group. When he went on to serve in the Vietnam War his career was put on hold.
