B-Line (Hamilton)
The Hamilton LRT (also known as the B-Line) is a planned light rail line in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, to operate along Main Street, King Street, and Queenston Road. It is one of five planned rapid transit lines which form Hamilton's proposed BLAST network, now known as ''(Re)envision the HSR''. The , 17-stop route is planned to extend from McMaster University to Eastgate Square via downtown Hamilton. The LRT was originally funded by the province of Ontario in 2015 and in 2018 Infrastructure Ontario issued a request for proposals to design and construct the project. However, in December 2019 the province cancelled procurement citing rising costs. In May 2021, the project received funding from the provincial and federal governments allowing to project to advance to procurement and construction. Hamilton GO Centre
Hamilton GO Centre is a commuter rail station and bus terminal in downtown Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. As the terminal stop for evening rush-hour Lakeshore West line trains, it is a major hub for GO Transit bus and train services. History Hamilton GO Centre is a Streamline Moderne building designed by New York architects Fellheimer & Wagner. It was planned as a large complex, but was reduced in size to that of a 7-storey office block. Fred Eisenberger
Fred Eisenberger (born September 3, 1952) is a Canadian politician and former real estate agent who was the 57th mayor of Hamilton from 2014 to 2022. Eisenberger previously served as chair of the Hamilton Port Authority prior to his first election. He served as the 55th mayor from 2006 to 2010, and was succeeded by Bob Bratina, but was elected mayor again in 2014 and 2018 to four-year terms. Early life and background Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Eisenberger emigrated with his family to Canada when he was eight years old, entering through the iconic LIUNA Station as many immigrants did during that era. He attended Sir Winston Churchill School in Hamilton. He graduated with honours from Mohawk College. He has also taken courses at the University of Waterloo and McMaster University. West Harbour GO Station
West Harbour GO Station is a regional rail station in the North End neighbourhood of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The station has been served by GO Transit's Lakeshore West line since July 9, 2015. There is hourly service between West Harbour and Toronto's Union Station, seven days a week. Via Rail service may eventually be provided. The A-Line is a proposed rapid transit line running along James Street in downtown and Upper James Street on the escarpment in Hamilton, Ontario.
